First night of the @SouthShoreVoc Fire Cadet Program is in the books! The students learned about the fire service, received their own turnout gear, learned the basics of the SCBA, fire engines and hydrants. This program will continue for 8 more weeks. Great week 1 to all!

Earlier today, Massachusetts State Police K-9 Frankie was shot in the line of duty during a mission with the STOP Team in Fitchburg. He was rushed to Wachusett Animal Hospital where he tragically died as a result of his injuries.

4 years ago today, in Lynn, @MassGovernor Charlie Baker signed the “Tony Colarusso” bill into law. Prior to this bill signing, firefighters diagnosed with an occupational cancer were forced to use their own sick time and could run out of time during their cancer fight. 1/2

Local 2726 members worked with multiple other area Locals to extinguish this fire in @HinghamMA.

#HFD C-1 & Engine-7 worked this 4th alarm fire at 4 Mann Street in Hingham. Hanover worked with multiple mutual aid companies from across the South Shore to extinguish the fire that spread to multiple adjacent homes.

Happy 1st birthday Noah!!! One year ago today FF/Paramedics Sebastian Rivas & Jonathan Pelletier assisted in delivering baby Noah while transporting mom to Brockton Hospital. Today, Noah came back to visit Rivas & Pelletier and drop off some treats for the on-duty firefighters.

#HFD would like to congratulate FF Jean Marc Thelussaint for graduating from the MFA Career Recruit Program, today in Bridgewater. The Mass Firefighting Academy is a ten week program that trains new recruits, and allows them to obtain their Firefighter 1 & 2 certifications.

In memoriam: Captain James W Allen. March 2. 2018. James was a 28 year member of the Hanover Fire Department. Jim was one of two hired in 1972, to be the first career firefighters in Hanover. Jim was a well respected firefighter and it was an honor to work with him.
