Remembering Boston’s Bravest.👩🚒👨🚒🚒
12 years ago this afternoon, March 26, 2014, a 9-alarm fatal fire broke out at 298 Beacon Street in Boston's Back Bay neighborhood.
Above suspended ceilings in high-rise buildings are hundreds of wires, cables, and services. During a fire, heat, fire spread, and suppression operations can cause these unseen systems to fail, drop, or collapse without warning.
Duxbury Fire is grateful to be working alongside the Massachusetts National Guard as we continue to access difficult and snow-covered areas throughout town. Their specialized vehicles and personnel help ensure we can reach residents safely and efficiently when it matters most.
Citizens, please be aware that the City has put in place an ill-advised plan during the snow emergency. They are having police officers certified as EMTs respond to medical and trauma dispatches normally handled by IAFF Local 22 paramedics and EMTs. We have no idea what equipment and experience they may have or if they even know the correct hospital to take patients to. We also believe that State Law states that patients should be transported in certified medic units, not police vehicles. Be careful out there and stay safe.

Face of budget cuts, Will Kelso, Duxbury born and raised will be leaving us. Due to budget cuts we are losing 2 firefighter positions one of which would have been hiring him. Our loss will be another departments gain. Will grew up at the DxFD.
