Governor Eric Holcomb has proclaimed Saturday, February 11, 2023 'Indiana 211 Day!' This marks the 20th anniversary of the first call accepted by Indiana 211. Dial 2-1-1 to be connected with local health and human services agencies and resources. #Indiana211Day!
Getting folks out of jail who have MH concerns and providing diversion programs for people is at top of our priority list - grateful for this amazing crew fighting for those caught up on criminal justice system
Indeed - grateful there is some focus on this critical access point. The lack of standard of care in ED is unconscionable. Glad to see some leaders in space
Emergency department providers play a critical role in our response to the overdose crisis. In Baltimore, @DrGupta46 met with some of those providers at @HopkinsMedicine Emergency Department to discuss their work treating substance use disorder and connecting people to care.
.@DrGupta46 today at an event recognizing @POTUS' historic action to remove the X-waiver: "Addiction isn’t a red state problem or a blue state problem—it’s America’s problem, and we all have to work together to solve it.”
This new program has appropriately redirected 25 people from jail into community treatment THIS MONTH! Talk about impact, 25 ppl not in jail, from this new peer program. Collaboration between state and local officials has been tremendous and a fully bought in community
Great day in Dearborn County, where 241 incarcerated individuals have already been connected with peers and provided mental health and SUD resources since the July launch of #Indiana’s Integrated Reentry and Correctional Support pilot program. #NextLevelRecovery
Another story breathing life into Indiana Commission's report and the importance of implementing recommendations. Thanks @SarahNelsonIndy and @indystar - this is #1 issue counties face! Commission did their job, here is the roadmap! @IndianaCouncil @MHAofINDIANA @namiindiana
The state recently released its findings about Indiana's behavioral health systems. Here's how their findings, if implemented, would change criminal justice in Indy. https://t.co/ScLgCJ923H
@AndrewSmithNews@wrtv Shout out @AndrewSmithNews from @wrtv for bring an advocate for marginalized folks! The recovery community thanks you for all you've done to highlight the needs of and support for our people. Thank you and good luck!
This is fabulous. Well the hysteria from the rainbow fentanyl reporting is beyond harmful. But this info graph helps show how it gets legs. Several points where info could be corrected but drug experts rarely consulted
This is how drug panics are created.
The rainbow fentanyl myth spread like wildfire because law enforcement, media, and politicians are in symbiotic relationships where their common currency is fear.
Rainbow fentanyl is just the latest example.
Another day and another story on the importance of Indiana Behavioral Health Commission report and recommendations. Thanks to @IndianaCouncil leader Zoe Frants for both her work on the council and honesty in this piece about changes needed!
A state commission is calling on Indiana to increase funding for mental health services by 60% over the next four years. It’s an issue likely to be discussed next session at the Statehouse: https://t.co/ATrsX3Bo21 @CBS4Indy@FOX59
Thank you Beth Keeney and @lifespringinc for the excellent breakdown of the Indiana Behavioral Health Commission report findings.
Report: Indiana’s mental healthcare system 'underfunded' and 'systemic reform' recommended https://t.co/JUu4WJJSn3 via @whas11
Critical that we advocate for the betterment of our entire behavioral health system. Shout out to to @WHAS11 for covering this important story and giving voice to @bethkeeney, @lifespringinc, and our @IAICRecovery Director @icmyserenity
Thanks @WHAS11 for talking with us about this critical step forward for behavioral health in Indiana. @icmyserenity did an amazing job talking about how, if implemented, this will change access and outcomes for Hoosiers.
Something has to be done here. The public health safety net for our entire society doesn't catch those w substance use disorder! This should be malpractice- but it's not currently. Something has to give
