Open access in SSM, pre-proof version. This article means a lot, for so many reasons. Hard & so important to do justice to these heart-rending accounts. Thank you to all the participants & in particular memory of those deceased since we spoke. @CarePrevent https://t.co/fwoD3nmRau
🚨BREAKING. From a program officer at the National Science Foundation, a list of keywords that can cause a grant to be pulled. I will be sharing screenshots of these keywords along with a decision tree. Please share widely. This is a crisis for academic freedom & science.
Thank you to @Release_drugs for hosting our event today on the Safe Inhalation Pipe Provision (SIPP) Project. @pwidpride (@lshtm) has been presenting on the findings of this crucial work.

I appaud @UNODC for needed focus on stimulant drugs #EHRC2024 but urge focus beyond BBV. A cynical view: this speaks more to communicable disease transmission concern among broader 'public' than the health & wellbeing of people who use stimulants. Respiratory conditions crucial!
Crack curious or full blown stimulant #harmreduction aficionado? Come to my talk today at #EHRC2024 on @safe_pipe! Not in Warsaw? Contribute to debate & share here what you think about the prohibition of crack pipe provision under UK law. https://t.co/vXfdV5fZ4O
The wonderful @harmreductlynn at #EHRC2024 speaking out for our community "we are your colleagues" & the crucial reminder, that to advance #harmreduction access & acceptability "integration means initiatives that are peer led"
@sarosip#EHRC2024 on the fallacy of much 'drug-related violence' discourse:: "most of the crime is not drug related but is related to the system and how we are creating violence through policy" & on #harmreduction: "we don't want to speak about needles, but about people"
Empassioned speech from Lithuanian member of the European Parliament #EHRC2024 railing against the political rise of the far right: "we need to fight once again those who are fighting against harm reduction... against human rights'
#EHRC2024 Courageous opening: former president of Poland "I signed a lot of very restrictive bills in drug policy... I came to realise this was counter productive... we cannot repeat the stereotypes present in public sphere...This restrictive drug policy is the road to nowhere"
@Ayachuco1@safe_pipe No need to waste (both our) time constructing a straw man. Why for 1 slide? Perhaps listen to talk/read papers? Concerns incl respiratory risk & care access, unmet mental health need, siloed decimated services failing the most marginalised & supports needed to make a difference
@Ayachuco1 Slide states: limited reason for people who smoke crack/meth in UK to access drug services as: 1) no equipment provision, 2) no pharmacotherapy offer. Talk focus on pipes/findings from @safe_pipe. I have extensive drug use (incl crack & meth) & research exp.
@MorganGodvin@BitcoinHofmann Morgan, I'll send you a DM with my phone number. Call me tomorrow and I'll connect you with Niamh, together we will see what we can do. I know some prescribers as well that can call.
@ProfAlexStevens@ProfAlexStevens - umm not really! Getting sling on and off and dressing uniquely challenging. The Portuguese offering of ibuprofen and paracetamol not really cutting it!
