This week, we’re shining our Superintendent Spotlight on Dr. Tara Bishop, Superintendent of Perry Central Community Schools, who believes a rural location should never limit opportunities for students.

Working with educators, community partners, and employers, Dr. Bishop has helped expand work-based learning opportunities, including full-day internships and student-run enterprises. These experiences give students real-world skills, exposure to career pathways, and stronger connections between classroom learning and life after graduation.

As Indiana's 2026 assessment results are released, we're celebrating the students, educators, and school leaders behind the numbers! Statewide IREAD proficiency has increased for five consecutive years, and more schools and student populations continue to make meaningful gains. These results reflect intentional work happening across Indiana being led by superintendents and district teams, carried out by hard-working educators, and achieved by students.

Dr. Brad Yates, Superintendent of Bluffton-Harrison MSD, believes leadership is most effective when it is visible, accessible, and engaged.

Through initiatives like the BHMSD Roar Report video podcast and monthly remote office hours held in school hallways, Dr. Yates intentionally creates opportunities to connect with students, staff, and families in meaningful ways.
