@wubadubdub120 I think parts of deltarune are definitely meant to parallel undertale though but I dont think it has any order/structure to it and instead more due to Deltarune being a "post-scratch" Undertale
@wubadubdub120 yeah thats fair! I think the idea of it is cool dont get me wrong, but from a theory perspective i dont really get where its headed, sure the parallels are neat but what does it mean for the story at large?
@wubadubdub120 from what i've seen the main argument for reverse undertale theory is about the asethetics/visuals of each chapter, chapter 1 = castle, chapter 2 = blue/green cyber, chapter 3 = orange TV/robots, chapter 4 = blue water + prophecy,
but there's no snow or forests in chapter 5
@wubadubdub120 Like sure they have the japanese style archetecture in the shrine room in undertale, but thats console exclusive and a very small part of the area, meanwhile a large portion of chapter 5 is dedicated to that idea
@ventulip@wubadubdub120 if it really was true there would be a more consistent set of rules and structure, having to bend the theory just to fit a chapter is what makes me think its not as likely to be true
@ventulip@wubadubdub120 the thing with that though, the second you have to make exceptions and stretch Reverse Undertale theory and say stuff like "its only 1 half of waterfall" for chapters 4/5 the whole theory begins to fall apart and leans more into confirmation bias
@Chromateded@wubadubdub120@death2weezer exactly, most points of evidence for reverse undertale theory is just cherry picked examples that don't consider any counter-evidence
@wubadubdub120 and even if reverse undertale theory is true i've yet to seen anyone give a conclusion of what it actually means/what the theory is building towards
@wubadubdub120 honestly this chapter deconfirmed reverse undertale theory imo, there's far more parallels to Ruins than there is to snowdin and if you're meant to count both ruins and snowdin for chapter 5 does that not just break the whole theory?
