Hmmm..so Hydro Ottawa directly cause 400 of their employees to be off work for 90 days and not receive a paycheque yet you win a @top_employers award in the 19th annual National Capital Region's Top Employers (2024). #YouGottaBeKidding
@HorizonOttawa Your commitment and dedication to our cause helped our members enormously. We couldn't have done it without your support. Thank you for always showing up and speaking up for #Ottawa workers. We are grateful for your #solidarity and friendship.✊
@MaritStiles Our sincere thanks to you and your @OntarioNDP colleagues for your unwavering support of our members, including @JoelHardenONDP @Morgan_Gay @MelissaCoenraad @ChandraPasma and others. ✊
Last night @hydroottawa workers voted to accept an offer. It was hard fought and it was long, but our members are more united as a workforce than ever before.
They are grateful for your #solidarity and look forward to getting back to work and powering Ottawa safely.
#ottnews
For the 2nd time @hydroottawa deferred its 2022 annual presentation to @ottawacity council.
Is it because they didn't want to face their workers who showed up in impressive numbers yesterday?
Day 79, but as this picture shows - they are not broken. They are united and strong.
Mike Hall said @hydroottawa [is] the most difficult employer.
“It’s old-school...They think if they have lots of grievances they’re managing their people properly. But how is that 2023 thinking? In all my other employers, the goal is zero grievances.”

After more than 70 days, it’s past time to end the Hydro Ottawa strike, ensure safe working conditions and fair wages. Electrical workers have been there for Ottawa when we needed them most. @hydroottawa@IBEWLocal636#Ottawa#Ottnews
We call on @ottawacity to ask @hydroottawa the hard questions this morning about

⚡️Strike costs for security company, scabs and delayed projects
⚡️Board approved strike plan
⚡️Negotiation delays
⚡️Alleged unfair labour practices

This is WEEK 11 of @IBEWLocal636 strike https://t.co/lqxF39u7Qx
In 2015 it cost Halifax Water $2 Million for @AFIMACGlobal security services during their 2 month strike.
How much has it cost @hydroottawa to employ #AFIMAC for this strike nearing 3 months in today's $$$?
+SCAB contractors? @ottawacity#ottnews#audit

🚨SCAB ALERT🚨
Today we're picketing #JetElectricalContractors in Gananoque because they continue to cross our picket lines.
They are hurting members fighting for a fair deal.
@hydroottawa workers have been on strike for 77 days. There is no excuse to do this.
#RespectTheLine
@FredHahnCUPE@CUPEOntario There is strength in unity and no limit to what we can accomplish when we all stand together. 💪
Thank you for your #solidarity and support for our members on strike day 77. It means the world to them.
Hydro workers on strike for 11 weeks will rally outside @ottawacity hall Wednesday as @hydroottawa reports on their 2022 performance to the Mayor and City Council.
Come walk in #solidarity with the workers who keep the lights on and #Ottawa safe.✊
🙏@HorizonOttawa#FairDealNow
.@IBEWLocal636 members are still on strike fighting for a fair deal from Hydro Ottawa.
Stand in solidarity with these workers at City Hall, on Wednesday at 9 am for their rally!
In memory of brothers lost.
Twenty-one @IBEW members from Local 3 and Local 1212 were among the nearly 3,000 people whose lives were tragically lost in the attack on the World Trade Center.
We remember them today and always.
22 years ago, we lost 2,977 Americans during the 9/11 terrorist attacks, including 17 members of Local 3 and four from Local 1212 that morning, all working on the job at the World Trade Center. They will never be forgotten.
