I have just been briefed that the Magistrate Court in Ekiti State has remanded the immediate past FUOYE SUG President, Comrade Adio, in prison over a matter that he personally instituted before the court.

From the facts available to us, Comrade Adio was the complainant and had no criminal case against him. It is therefore deeply disturbing that the matter was allegedly turned against him through the actions of the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) and the presiding Magistrate. We view this as judicial rascality, a gross abuse of due process, and a violation of Comrade Adio’s fundamental rights.

In response to this development, I have immediately directed the NANS JCC Chairman, Ekiti Axis, and the NANS National Head of Administration to begin mobilization. Peaceful actions will be taken to demand justice, including lawful protests at the Ekiti State High Court, the Magistrate Court, and the office of the DPP, until Comrade Adio is released and justice is served.

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) will not stand by while the rights of Nigerian students are trampled upon. We remain committed to defending justice, the rule of law, and the fundamental rights of every Nigerian student.

I spotted a sniper wearing a full SF uniform, but the exposed skin wasn't that of a black man it was a foreign fighter. I faced that axis and rained it with full force. Our officer in charge had been shot, but we had to finish the operation.

After some intense fighting, the place was calm, and we entered Alagarno. Some insurgents ran with bullet wounds, but what I saw was indescribable. The insurgents we killed included Arabs, and the camp's setup indicated they weren't locals. We found bunkers filled with hard currencies, brand-new vehicles, arms, sophisticated gadgets and even air conditioning.

Just as we thought it was over, they came again in vehicles, shouting "Allahu Akbar" and claiming it was their caliphate. With our ammo running low and our Oga shot, we were under pressure. But then, air support arrived, and it was our saviour.

KIDNAPPED STUDENTS AND TEACHERS IN OYO STATE RESCUED FOLLOWING, SURGICAL INTENSE AND WELL COORDINATED OPERATIONS IN OLD OYO NATIONAL PARK AND OTHER PARTS OF THE COUNTRY

1. Following an intelligence-led carefully planned and executed operations, on 10 July 2026, troops of the Nigerian Army, led by the General Officer Commanding 2 Division, Nigerian Army, Ibadan, *Major General CR Nnebeife*, in collaboration with special units from the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) specifically the National Counter Terrorism Center (NCTC),the Defence Headquarters with Special Forces elements from the Nigerian Army, Navy the Air Force and the Nigeria Police, the Department of State Services (DSS), National Intelligence Agency (NIA), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and other security agencies as well as local vigilantes/hunters/Amotekuns, in a well coordinated operation rescued a total of 44 pupils and teachers kidnapped by terrorists from Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State on 15 May 2026.

2. The operations, which lasted for more than a month, focused on identifying the terrorists kingpins that masterminded the kidnapping, bursting and dismantling their networks and logistics links, including their informants and hideouts located within the Old Oyo National Park Forest, Oyo State.

3. As part of the operations, multiple arrests were made within Oyo State and in other locations across some States in the Country. These arrests completely disorganized the group, exerted overwhelming pressure on them and ultimately led the terrorist group to *unconditionally release* the pupils and teachers. Further operations are to be conducted.

4. It suffices to note that the operations were carefully planned and executed to avoid collateral damages and to equally ensure that the innocent children and teachers were safely rescued. However, there were some casualties on the part of the security forces.

5. The pupils and teachers are currently receiving medical attention in an undisclosed hospital and will be handed over to the Oyo State Government in due course so as to be reunited with their families.

6. The GOC 2 Division wish to on behalf of all the participating agencies most sincerely and respectfully thank and appreciate His Excellency, the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR for the Strategic Guidance, Support and for all the provisions that made the operations a huge success.

7. The GOC also wishes to once again thank the Governor of Oyo State, Engr Seyi Makinde and indeed the good people of the State for their continous support to security agencies especially during the trying period.

8. The GOC also appreciates the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, the Hon Minster of Defence, the Chief of Defence Staff, the Chief of Army Staff and other Service Chiefs, Inspector General of Police and the Directors General DSS and NIA as well as Heads of other Security Agencies for their support and for the opportunity to relate directly with all the security agencies to ensure a seamless coordination and execution of the operations.

9. We sincerely thank the various media houses and indeed the entire Nigeria populace for their support, understanding and for having faith in the security architecture of the Nation. We urge all to remain vigilant and continue to support all security agencies by providing timely and credible information that would assist in the ongoing efforts to safeguard lives and properties across Nigeria.

Updated: in the course of the rescue operation, eight of the kidnappers were arrested and are now in DSS custody, while some of them were neutralised. There was no quid pro quo in the rescue as one of the terrorists, a kingpin, that the kidnappers demanded his release, is being prosecuted for his atrocities. The security agencies will give full account soon.

Some officers of the Nigeria Police Force have been caught running criminal groups in Rivers State. They abducted people during fake patrols, forced access to victims' bank accounts and cryptocurrency wallets, extorted millions, kidnapped, and committed armed robbery.

They did this in uniform, using police vehicles, and targeted the very people they were meant to protect. The Nigeria Police Force, led by IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc (+), NPM, will not ignore these actions.

Syndicate One, Zone 16, Yenagoa: Inspector Ayanniyi Jelili, Inspector Durojaye Francis, and Inspector Olayemi Titus have been arrested. Three accomplices are still at large and are being actively pursued. Police recovered three Toyota Sienna buses and ₦7,338,800 linked to these crimes.

Syndicate Two, Rivers State Command: Inspector John Okoi, Inspector Eyibo Asuquo, Inspector Udo Ndipmong, Inspector Bright Nwachukwu, and Inspector Anele Ikechukwu have been dismissed. Their case has been sent for prosecution.

The charges include conspiracy, armed robbery, kidnapping, extortion, and official corruption.

This is a real and necessary internal cleansing. It is painful, but no rank will protect a criminal in this Force.
