On Tuesday, Japan and Iceland both decided to allow fin whale hunting. Iceland will kill 128 fin whales.

Japan will kill as many as 59 fin whales this year in addition to 25 sei whales, 150 Bryde’s whales, and 142 minke whales.

#Japan's #whaling mothership, the Kangei Maru, has returned to port with 15 Bryde’s #whales, killed in its first operation (May 25th - June 9th).

The ship will depart for its second operation on June 13th.

Iceland 🇮🇸 approves the slaughter of 128 fin whales.

Minister of Fisheries Bjarkey Olsen Gunnarsdóttir said the government was obligated to issue the permit, despite her own personal stance on the matter.

A 40-foot humpback whale found dead and wrapped in fishing nets in Portland, Maine.

The female was first reported alive and wrapped in a net off Cape Elizabeth on Wednesday, but she was dead by the time Maine Marine Patrol reached her position.

Senior shepherd Indy spent his life serving others.

When he was retired, he was sent to a rescue where he should have been treated like the hero he was.

But, that is not what happened.

Luckily, our Animal Law Enforcement stepped in and rescued him alongside 27 other dogs.
