In partnership with our @komfo_anokye
ICSBCS site in Kumasi, Ghana, we congratulate our Breast Cancer Nurses and staff on an exceptional #breastcancerawareness program! Global outreach and capacity building are key to end #breastcancer#disparities

In a recent proposal, our team planned an approach to change the culture of bias. Shifting focus from patients to providers. Perhaps to truly be transformative, we have to change the system's lens.
We invite our @AORTIC_AFRICA colleagues to attend our 5th Annual ICSBCS meeting. Through generous @theNCI @NCIGlobalHealth funding, we are offering our first Genomics Workshop (this Sunday) with lead computational biologists from @WCMEnglanderIPM and @nygenome

Our most recent international collaboration with @ICSBCS partners in Ethiopia at St. Paul's Hospital Millennium Hospital and in Ghana at @komfo_anokye helps to uncover the genetic risk of women across the African Diaspora, including African Americans. @WCM_MeyerCancer@WCMSurgery
Please join the DF/HCC Connect Science seminar tomorrow, June 15 at 12PM. Dr. Scarlett Lin Gomez will be giving a talk on "Multi-Level Studies to Address Cancer Health Disparities: From Neighborhoods to Omics"

Our latest publication on Breast Cancer Risk alleles in African Americans was highlighted in @GA4GH . It takes a global effort to reach health equity! @WCM_MeyerCancer@WCMSurgery
ICSBCS is excited to support National Black Family Cancer Awareness Week!
We need to have the hard conversations among our families, to be aware, to be present and empowered in our survivorship and prevention! @MeliD32@LANewmanMD
Our latest research! It is imperative that we identify the genetic risk alleles that are common in all populations. Justice in breast cancer prevention is more than access to screening, but also that screening tools are accurate for all women, regardless of race/ancestry.
Melissa Davis, PhD (@MeliD32) and Lisa Newman, MD recently published in collaboration with @HenryFordNews and @ICSBCS research partners: "Investigation of TNBC risk alleles in an International African-enriched cohort" @SciReports
