ICTHIC promotes recent advances in the understanding of the pathogenesis, prevention and treatment of thrombohemorrhagic complications in cancer patients
A grant finale of #ICTHIC2024 🎆Systematic review and meta-analysis by Dr. @MarcCarrier1 et. al identified multiple risk factors for recurrent VTE in patients with cancer-associated thrombosis.
Dr. @jzbos demonstrated that proteomics can help to predict cancer-associated thrombosis and provide innovative mechanistic insights (through CD200R1/IL-17A axis). Looking forward seeing additional results at the @isth meeting in Bangkok.

Great presentation by @SimonNoble at #icthic24 explaining the importance of involving patients at every stage of research. #PPI is sadly neglected in #cancer associated #thrombosis research. Would be great to see patient representatives at the next @icthic?
Is FXI inhibition the future of the management of cancer-associated thrombosis?
Dr. @MarcelloDiNisio provided an elegant review @ICTHIC
Potentially low risk of bleeding, less drug-drug interactions, less dependence on renal/liver for elimination.
Phase 3 trials on-going! Stay tuned :)
Dr. @aakonc highlighting that RCTs assessing Immune Checkpoint Inhibitors for patients with cancer do not capture a large majority of VTEs or ATEs (RCTs vs. Cohorts) @ICTHIC meeting👇
#ICTHIC2024
Dr. Stanworth gave an elegant talk on the challenges in managing patients with thrombocytopenia and cancer-associated thrombosis, RCT is underway and needed! #ICTHIC2024
Fantastic 8th Simon Karpatkin Memorial Lecture at @ICTHIC by Prof Agnes Lee. Interesting overview of the management of cancer-associated thrombosis highlighting an exceptional career by Prof Lee. 🏆 🎉
