@jaylencavil These practices can put a target on tenants backs if they are trying to speak up against housing injustice in their community. Landlord retaliation against organizers happens frequently.

We are now asking for donations for our 100% community funded, non means tested Rent/Utilities Relief Fund. Many of our neighbors in IC are struggling, and many don’t trust other aid programs. This fund cop free and judgement free. Please give what you can and share!

The March will start at 3:30pm at the Catholic Worker House (1414 Sycamore Street Iowa City, IA 52240) and will head to Mercer Park, where a city meeting on where to allocate the funds is taking place.

Our general meeting tonight is going to be postponed to next Wednesday, August 18th, so we can stand in solidarity with the March For Excluded Workers today. Iowa City needs to allocate its emergency funds to workers, especially migrants, who have been hardest hit by the pandemic
