Knicks practice facility in the city?
When Knicks & Rangers become separate companies the Rangers will own the Westchester facility they share & the Knicks will pay rent, per plan in SEC filing
Could this lead to Knicks training in NYC, vs 25 miles out?
Issue came up before playoffs on the Roommates Show:
Q: "If you could change one thing…what would it be?"
Brunson, Hart, Amar'e: (give answers)
Matt: "I'm surprised no one said build practice facility in Manhattan"
Brunson: "Ahh…that's a close one"
Amar'e: "When I was playing they were gonna…It never happened huh? Man…wow"
Matt: "Knicks would have more titles & be best team in league every year…the free agents…"
Hart: "Na we in the same spot man. We just got rid of the same weights you were using"
Brunson 😂
Amar'e: "Right"
Brunson: "Oh we got doors in the locker room now though"
Hart: "Yup we got doors"
Amar'e: "Oh that's cool…Rangers still train there?"
Brunson: "Yeah"
If the Knicks moved out of Westchester, the Rangers could use the space to expand, perhaps from 1 hockey rink to 2; many NHL teams already have access to a 2nd sheet—extra ice for camp, split sessions, etc 🤔
Book accurate S4 would cover...
- Fall of Dragonstone
- Battle above the Gods Eye
- Storming of the Dragonpit
- 2nd Tumbleton
- Rhaenyra at Dragonstone
- Moon of the 3 kings
- Battle for the Kings Road
- Aegon 2's fate
- Hour of the Wolf
FWIW I don't think they will cover all that ...
Leon Rose on the criticism he got for certain moves he made:
"I got killed about Jalen, and now everyone thinks I’m a genius. It’s about what we did in order to get you. Clearing space, at the time people thinking that it was so much money that we were paying you.
"More flak for Mikal. The five draft picks, yeah, absolutely. I got a lot of flak for that. I think everything turned out pretty well. The Mikal thing, got crushed on that one, too. The difference was, [Jalen] was the first major move and I had all the conviction in the world. I’ve known him since he was born, I know what he’s all about, I know what a winner he is, I know that I was willing to ride with him. When we got to Mikal, Mikal was like the last piece that was gonna give us the whole group. We had just resigned OG that day, we got the Mikal deal done that night. That was like the last one and probably why, if you wanna say it was too many draft picks, it was too many drafts picks, but to me, it was trying to get this [Larry O'Brien trophy].
"Believe me, that [hate that Bridges got] bothered the heck out of me, because it had nothing to do with Mikal. It was the price I was willing to pay or we were willing to pay in order to get that deal done because of how important we thought it was to get that piece to solidify this group."
Leon just finally gave us the map 🗺️
1) Every personnel decision was viewed through the context and lens of “can this person do this in NYC”
2) I believe i heard 5 “fit”s in this 2 minute clip. Everything was about chemistry and fit.
3) Did the “trial and error” thing and learned from the Indy series that they needed to upgrade on handling opposing teams ball pressure (this was key for us vs san antonio)
If I owe anyone an apology its Leon. I was on his head and at the time i dont regret it bc it was bleak. But He ultimately emptied the clip and took a HUGE risk that ultimately paid off. A risk I would have been unwilling to make. He took MASSIVE risk. Firing a head coach who led you to the first ecf in 25 years and trading every tradeable pick for Mikal.
Hes the architect of all this. He was right, i was wrong and his risk paid off. salute to him 🫡
