@srchilaquilles@Raiders Comment section is wild but I was at the game yesterday as a Bears fan and did not expect it to be a bears home game it was kinda crazy
I never heard someone talk this crazy about Caleb Williams, however Hoge was one of the people saying Cj Stroud was gonna have a special year before the draft started. What Yall think?
As a former NFL Scout,
I don't agree with the Bears trading QB Justin Fields. Everything I've seen out of him, he's trending in the right direction ⬆️and he is the second fastest QB in NFL history to 5,000 yards passing and 2,000 rushing next to Lamar Jackson (who I said would make the Jets a Super Bowl contender - instead Jackson ended up taking Baltimore to the AFC Championship game).

Fields is SUPER SMART AND MATURE BEYOND HIS YEARS and it seems like he has a lot of support in the locker room and from the Bears fanbase, which is important to coaching and likely team ownership. I think very highly of Justin Fields (2021 NFL Draft QB1 pre-draft scouting report featured) and I vote to keep him in Chicago as the starter. There is a premium on experience in this league of defensive complexity and I feel the Bears will regret it if they don't (deeply) - I predicted Daniel Jones' breakout season before 2022 happened - and wrote glowing articles about Tua Tagovailoa and Jordan Love when the football world was down on both of them back in 2021. I have a gut feeling Fields is going to have a breakout season in 2024.

I have also evaluated 190 games of QBs in this 2024 draft class - and all those games are documented and I have provided the links on all of their evaluations for proof.
Stick with Fields.

I have also evaluated every single snap Fields took in 2023.

Build to his strengths ⎯from a personnel and game planning standpoint. In other words, turn this draft into two or three star-level targets for Fields who EXCEL short to intermediate (0-19 yards) at YAC (yards after the catch) and game plan around what Fields does best (quick first-second reads where he doesn't have to overthink it because he's actually too smart and incredibly analytical), give him solid running back support in free agency, and script in a lot more of the moving pocket during games so defenses have to adjust to him instead of the other way around.
I will conclude with this ⎯if I were a GM ⎯I know for a fact I could win the Super Bowl with Justin Fields. It takes people who believe in him and knowing how to build a support structure for him that plays to his strengths. The other important thing here - is to get a veteran backup and I do mean a backup (who is content in that role) that has a similar style of play as Fields that can step in - in case of an emergency that has a similar style (dual role type) so the offense doesn't miss a beat. Injuries are always the wildcard.
