Idaho joins in mourning the passing of former Governor Dirk Kempthorne, a statesman whose legacy of leadership, service and unwavering love for the Gem State leaves an enduring mark on our state and nation. Kempthorne died on Friday, April 24.
Idaho House Majority Caucus Chairman Jaron Crane said, “Dirk Kempthorne represented the very best of Idaho — strong leadership, deep conviction, humility and a servant’s heart. His impact on our state will be felt for generations. Our prayers are with Patricia, Jeff, Heather and the entire Kempthorne family during this difficult time. Idaho has lost a remarkable leader, but his legacy will continue to inspire future generations of public servants and citizens alike.”
The story didn’t end on Friday with Jesus left hanging on the cross- Sunday was coming.
Today, we celebrate the risen Savior, our Lord and King, Jesus Christ!
Happy Easter!
✝️"Melania and I would like to wish everyone a very Happy Easter! Whether you are heading out to Church or, watching Service from home, may this day be full of Peace and Joy for all who celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. HE IS RISEN!!" –President Donald J. Trump
My “merit-based healthcare act” was signed by the governor today! The first of its kind in the US, removing DEI policies from Medicaid contracts, paving the way for other states.
In December 2025 a young boy named Benjamin, died in Nampa who was just 12 days old. A group of concerned parents contacted me. Together we worked on legislation that became known as Benji's Law HB 776. This week Governor Little signed it into law. I carried it in the House and Senator Tammy Nichols carried it in the Senate. I want to publicly thank Gov. Little for signing HB776. This bill puts into statute some common sense measures that help protect children up to a year old who are born into potentially troubling circumstances.

Before the Legislature adjourned, Rep. Jon Weber of District 34 Seat A joined us to talk about his priorities, including: taxes (he is Vice-Chair of the House Revenue & Taxation Committee), no longer requiring drivers to put registration stickers on their license plates, making Idaho's solid waste regulatory framework more simple and efficient, and affordable housing, among others.
