The IEE has now closed. For any queries please visit https://t.co/kH37b7hnOZ. We will be back briefly in Spring 2021 to publish a report on research schools.
Great TES article summarising the @IEE_York report on implementing evidence-based practice in schools. Leaders should prioritise T&L and give space for access to research inc through CPD and dissemination to teachers. https://t.co/97h4fIsrD6
The @IEE_York interviewed 22 research-engaged teachers → this report outlines their findings.

Last month @IEE_York released this report 📚 looking at how to be a research-sensitive school.
It describes what the culture and practices of a research-sensitive school look like. 🔍🏫

A thread on my main takeaways from the @IEE_York ‘The Open Door: How to be a research-sensitive school’. Really importent points for any schools moving towards research-informed T&L:

良質な研究を教師が簡単に入手できなければならない。教師は研究結果を自分の意思決定に反映させる必要があり、教育研究の世界と学校の世界をつなぐ必要がある。
IEE(@IEE_York)の最終レポートより
We are going to have a short print run of paper copies of the report. If you would like to be sent one (or up to six), please let @Jonathan_Haslam know your details. Thank you.
The final IEE report, based on interviews with teachers at schools hosting a Research School or who had run small-scale evaluation projects. From the interviews, we describe the research-sensitive school, putting education research into practice. https://t.co/APj7JY73n8
Finally, it considers the context, the wider environment, in which the research-sensitive school sits, and some of the challenges this creates. Thanks to the teachers and schools who participated so frankly and generously, and to those who commented on drafts.

This is reflected in the culture and practices of the school, and by a matrix of structures and approaches that support the implementation of evidence-based practice. It considers the role that innovation and evaluation play, particularly the current under-emphasis on evaluation.
As our parting gift to you, we have published an Evaluation Handbook. The purpose of this document is to support schools in planning and carrying out robust evaluations of practice as part of an evidence-informed approach to school improvement: https://t.co/HlweLqoryH

We are so sad to say goodbye to one of our original founders and funders, @IEE_York.
A huge thank you to @Jonathan_Haslam, Alicia Shaw and Nicola Mann who have made a huge contribution to the Research Schools Network.
Very sad to receive an email confirming that @IEE_York is closing from December. They funded and supported our retrieval practice project back in 2017.
Best wishes to everyone x
It is sad to hear that the @IEE_York will be closing down. The IEE, including @Jonathan_Haslam, Alicia Shaw & Nicola Mann etc, played a crucial part in the development of the @rs_network, as well as in my development professionally. A big thanks & best wishes to all involved.
