Our first was born at 28 weeks and spent 8 weeks in the NICU. We thankfully didn’t have typical insurance, but rather a health sharing group called Christian Healthcare ministries.

The bill was $1.8M, CHM negotiated to $1.2m and paid it outright. If we had typical insurance we would have hit maximums and been stuck in debt or bankrupt.
