The Cardinals just finished the first half 50-45 and 1 game out of a Wild Card spot. Whatever way you want to slice it, this season has been a massive success. Nobody predicted this team would be even CLOSE to 50 wins before the all star break. On top of everything that has come so far this year, this is about the most fun I’ve had watching the Cardinals in the last 3-4 years.

Has it been all sunshine and rainbows? No! There’s times it’s absolutely sucked. I think if you asked fans of the best teams in baseball they’d all say there were times that sucked. Slumps happened. This team has done an unbelievable job at bouncing back all year. You’re definitely starting to see where the holes are around this team but that’s the fun of rebuilding. It’s only going to get better and better.

I could probably throw in 5-6 guys in here, but the futures here: Jordan Walker and JJ Wetherholt are the franchise players the Cardinals have been looking for a long time. Jordan Walker is unbelievable. I look forward to turning on the tv or going to the game and watching that guy play. He’s slashing .294/22 HR/ 74 RBI/ .886 OPS. All in the first half. He was not good the last couple years. Unbelievable job by that guy to turn himself around like this. We have a 30 home run guy on our team!!!!! JJ Wetherholt on the other hand is going to be here for 8 years. He’s the guy. Buy your JJ Wetherholt jerseys.

Whatever happens the rest of the year, it’s been fun. We’re exceeding expectations, we have real, great franchise players, we’re starting to see holes to fill, and last but not least: they’re in a great spot for the playoffs. I can’t wait to watch this team the rest of the year. They are just so exciting. I love this team. Birds! #shocktheworld #STLCards
