Is cereal a soup? This might be one of my favorite inclusion activities we've done this year. The debate was intense! Thank you @kcoxscience for coming up with the best questions for us to discuss!
So excited for #NCTIES21! But how do I decide which session to go when they all look so good?? I might have added 73 sessions to my schedule 🤦🏼♀️. @kcoxscience@ericamsanger
We found that family-level factors did not predict social-emotional adjustment. Teacher-child relationship did predict social emotional adjustment. This study highlights the importance of quality early childhood education- specifically the power of teacher-child relationships!
Today in science we went on a field trip to Jurassic Park with @breakoutEDU It was my first time using the platform to create an escape challenge and it was so much fun!
Today's brain break included drawing new outfits for our mascot using @peardeck. @EcmsPta can we add polka dot sweaters to our spirit wear next year? I'm loving that look
@kcoxscience@deannaharris@flippitynet It's usually impossible to get anyone to participate in my 8th period and they were so into playing bingo! Such a great resource that is easy to use for both in person and virtual lessons!
We offered optional breakout rooms for students who want to work together on their assignment after class today and it's amazing to see students take the opportunity to step into leadership roles and support each other
As students shared their reasoning they were able to see the impact of their words in real time as other students changed their responses using the @PearDeck draggable tool
Great discussion during science today about HeLa cells. There's nothing better than seeing a student who has never unmuted during class before put "me" in the chat to volunteer to share their reasoning.
Poverty is not a culture and poverty is not a disability. The most recent episode of @BTWPodcastChat lines up so well with today's PD on CRT& The Brain
Monitoring students during breakout rooms and one group is exchanging emails and encouraging each other to reach out if they ever need someone to chat with.
@kcoxscience I loved seeing the kids responding to each other's comments to answer questions or share their own experience 🤗 definitely doing a lot more virtual gallery walks!
One of the coolest things about giving students choice boards is seeing how they go above and beyond when they find an option that interests them. Check out this hurricane proof house one of my students made using @tinkercad! #IMPowered
