ICS and ICS Taiwan Section Sign MOU to Continue the Taiwan Room at the International Museum of Surgical Science（Chicago)

2025年7月24日上午10時（芝加哥時間），國際外科學會中華民國總會（ICS Taiwan Section）與位於美國芝加哥的國際外科學會總部（ICS Headquarters）舉行線上簽署儀式，續簽關於設置於美國芝加哥「國際外科醫學博物館」之「台灣館」（Taiwan Room）的合作備忘錄。

本次儀式由駐芝加哥台北經濟文化辦事處類延峰處長協調安排，並特別邀請國際外科學會執行長 Max Downham 先生親自前往辦事處參與簽署儀式。備忘錄由國際外科學會中華民國總會理事長陳錦國博士與 Max Downham 執行長代表雙方正式簽署，並由類處長簽署見證。

雙方代表與類處長於儀式中表示，這項合作不僅彰顯台灣在國際醫學領域的傑出貢獻，更讓世界看見台灣於外科醫學歷史中扮演的重要角色，並持續深化台美醫療與教育合作關係，夯實雙邊醫學交流的堅實基礎。D執行長特別感謝中華民國（台灣）的長期支持，也珍惜與肯定與ICS中華民國總會的堅實夥伴關係。

In the morning of July 24, 2025 (Chicago time), the International College of Surgeons, Taiwan Section, and the ICS Headquarters held a virtual signing ceremony to renew the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the continued development of the Taiwan Room at the International Museum of Surgical Science in Chicago.

The event was graciously facilitated and witnessed by Director General Dennis Yen-Feng Lei of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Chicago, who also invited Mr. Max Downham, Executive Director of ICS, to the Office to join the ceremony in person. The MOU was officially signed by Dr. Chin-Kuo Chen, President of ICS Taiwan Section, and Mr. Max Downham on behalf of their respective organizations, and witnessed by Director General Lei.

During the ceremony, both parties and Director General Lei emphasized that this renewed collaboration not only highlights Taiwan’s outstanding contributions to global medicine, but also acknowledges Taiwan’s historical and ongoing role in surgical innovation. The Taiwan Room continues to serve as a bridge that strengthens medical cooperation and educational exchange between Taiwan and the United States.

His final match was in Singapore in 1953. In 1950, Chicago sculptor Louis Linck made plaster busts of him, one now in the International Museum of Surgical Science.

Tillet died in Chicago on 4 September 1954, aged 50.
