We are participating in Engineering EXPO, an event where middle school students come to learn about a variety of cool engineering areas. Our table has interactive examples of applications of OR: TSP problem using the state of Wisconsin and the domino art.
In last week's graduate research seminar, we had fun learning about the integer programming approach to the drop box location problem (presented by @apschmidt96 ) and cyber-physical system security using attack graphs and Markov models (presented by Carmen Haseltine).
We had fun volunteering at Little John's last Friday. Little John's is the community's kitchen in Madison for transforming food excess from farms, warehouses, and grocers, into accessible, chef-quality meals. We helped them with racks assembly and food packaging.
