Rupiah dah disebut sebagai the worst performing currency in Asia right now. Even Bank Indonesia masuk campur pun still tak membantu. Bapak Presiden relax pergi Perancis dengan segala rombongan. Oh ya orang di desa ga pake dolar ya kan pak.
A mother octopus lays her eggs, then stops eating. She slowly starves to death while she guards them, and by the time they hatch, she's already gone. Her babies float off into the ocean and will never meet her.
An Oxford scientist named Tim Coulson thinks these animals could be the ones to take over after we're gone. He laid it out in a 2024 book, and the case holds up. An octopus has about 500 million brain cells, roughly the same as a dog. Two-thirds of them aren't even in its head. They're spread through the eight arms, so each arm can taste what it touches and move on its own. Octopuses open jars. They carry coconut shells across the seafloor to hide under later. They've squeezed out of sealed tanks in the dark and gotten away. No animal without a backbone comes close.
But being smart has never been enough to build a city. Everything humans built runs on one trick: each generation starts where the last one left off. A kid today learns in school what took people thousands of years to work out, and inherits all of it for free. An octopus inherits nothing. Its mother died before it hatched, so there's no one to copy and nothing left over from the octopus that came before.
So every octopus has to figure out the whole world by itself, starting from zero. And they're good at it, weirdly good. Then a year or two later they die and take everything they learned with them. Peter Godfrey-Smith, a philosopher who spent years diving with octopuses for his book Other Minds, points out that they pass almost nothing on to their young. The cleverest animal in the sea wipes its memory clean every generation and starts over.
Coulson said it could take hundreds of thousands of years, maybe millions, and he's right that the raw ability is already there. The brain is built, and the body can crack almost any puzzle you hand it. The only thing missing is a second generation that remembers the first.
Men being performative when it comes to love evokes a kind of visceral disgust in women who possess real discernment.
This is what we call performativeness, and in a broader sense, everything we do contains an element of performance. But from the standpoint of mate selection, there is a critical distinction. If a man is enacting gestures of love for his partner while simultaneously directing them toward an audience, it begins to fracture the authenticity of the act. The gesture is no longer purely for her; it is being mediated through the gaze of others. And at that point, what is being built is not an intimate bond, but a display.
A relationship that is constantly being externalised in this way starts to feel as though it exists for spectators rather than for the two people within it. Claiming a person as your own, in the quiet, serious sense, is entirely different from exhibiting acts of love for the sake of validation. One is rooted in depth and possession of meaning; the other risks becoming an aesthetic performance of something that is no longer fully lived.
Prabowo ini bikin semua presiden pendahulunya jadinya terlihat bener kerjanya.
SBY itu nilainya 3/10, Jokowi 2/10 tapi Prabowo ini beneran 0/10. Nepotismenya gila. Temennya ditunjuk jadi Menhan yang ngurusin koperasi. Ajudannya dijadiiin Seskab. Adiknya dikasih jabatan multifungsi. Ponakannya dikasih Deputi BI.
Ekonomi lagi ambruk-ambruknya tapi presidennya macem gini. Hancur total.
Biarkan sanksi sosial, tapi kurang tepat jika harus DO.
We hired a consulting firm to tell us why our profits are down.
They sent three 24-year-olds wearing vests.
They spent two months interviewing us about our own jobs.
Then they put our answers into a PowerPoint presentation.
They charged us $250K for this privilege.
During the final readout, one of them used the phrase synergy optimization without blinking.
I looked around the conference room.
Our CEO was nodding like he just received the Ten Commandments.
The grand conclusion was that we need to increase revenue and decrease costs.
I could've told them that for a gift card to Panera.
But nobody listens to the guy who works here.
You only listen to the guy who flies in on a Tuesday.
I'm updating my resume to include synergy optimization.
It feels like the right move.
WHY STRIKING DUBAI IS DEVIOUSLY GENIUS
It’s all about cost/benefit.
Israel has been under constant missile and rocket attacks for 40 years. They don’t care.
US bases in the region are prepared to deal with these attacks.
Dubai is not at all prepared and its population has no stomach for a prolonged campaign. 2-3 days of this and there will be widespread panic in Dubai.
Meanwhile, Dubai (UAE) has great leverage over Trump. Remember all those Trump coins, personal investments and donation to the Board of Peace?
Striking Dubai makes it very costly for Trump to keep the war going. And Iran is a cornered beast. They don’t care about future relations with the UAE.
For the UAE, this is damage control. They need the attacks to stop NOW. They can’t prioritize revenge or political motives. They will push Trump to end the war very quickly.
