Haldia Refinery marked #WorldEnvironmentDay2026 with a week-long series of awareness and sustainability initiatives aligned with the theme “Inspired by Nature. For Climate. For Our Future.”

Activities included seminars, a walkathon, Nukkad Natak, competitions, the #EkPedMaaKeNaam plantation drive, and waste segregation at Sector-21.

Addressing the concluding programme on 5th June, Mr. Susanta Kumar Das, ED&RH highlighted collective responsibility and key initiatives such as the plantation of over 30 lakh mangroves, commissioning of an IWT-based STP, modernization of the ETP, and scientific waste management efforts.

With enthusiastic participation from industries across the region, EnvoQ-2026 reinforced the message that a greener future begins with knowledge and collective action.

Called on the Acting President of Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela HE @delcyrodriguezv today with the leadership of @PetroleumMin and CMDs of India’s energy sector PSUs.

India has a long standing energy partnership with Venezuela since 2008 and shares unique complimentarities with the country.

Venezuela possesses biggest proven reserves of oil in the world, while India not only possesses huge demand for energy but also has the technological expertise and manpower to refine Venezuelan crude in our refineries. Venezuela is already among the largest crude oil suppliers to India in April & May 2026, which is a reflection of the future potential. Our technical team will visit Venezuela soon to further explore this potential.

Indian companies already have existing investments in Venezuela and now look forward to building upon them, in addition to looking for newer opportunities for fruitful collaborations which will provide momentum to our quest towards energy security under the leadership of PM Sh @narendramodi Ji.

Hon’ble Prime Minister Sh. @narendramodi ji dedicated IndianOil’s Malkapur Terminal in Hyderabad, Telangana — a key step towards strengthening India’s energy infrastructure and advancing the vision of #ViksitBharat.

Built at a cost of ₹611 crore, the pipeline-fed terminal will enhance fuel supply efficiency across Telangana, reduce logistics costs by nearly ₹290 crore annually, and lower CO₂ emissions by around 27,000 MT every year.

The project will cater to 23 districts in Telangana while also generating significant employment opportunities.

Those celebrating what they perceive to be a difficult situation for 1.4 billion Indians and the nation’s energy sector should introspect.

While damaging their credibility, the panic, fear and rumour mongering they have consistently indulged in, will only take them this far and no further!

There is no crisis in India.

PM Sh @narendramodi Ji has only advised the citizens to moderate energy consumption to prevent any fiscal strain on the economy, not because we had issues with energy supplies!
It was a word of caution and prudence.

One can understand their desperation but those opposing India’s confident journey ahead should do some homework, and understand the issues before jumping in celebration.
While crude prices have nearly doubled globally, impacting even the most developed economies, India has held petrol and diesel prices with continued fuel availability across more than 1 lakh retail outlets and uninterrupted LPG supply to 33.5 crore households.
For now, our OMCs are bearing losses of ₹1,000 crore per day and have been able to insulate the energy consumers from impact of global volatility.
We have taken strong measures to turn this challenge into an opportunity.
India has diversified crude sourcing from 27 countries in 2006-07 to 41 countries today and is ensuring uninterrupted supplies from routes that are not impacted by the geopolitical situation. We strategically hold enough energy for 74 days, and continue to further expand our capacity.
All these are signs of a robust economy, not one in any difficulty!

भारत के पास 60 दिनों का कच्चा तेल, 60 दिनों की LNG और 45 दिनों का एलपीजी भंडार उपलब्‍ध है।

पश्चिम एशिया में तनाव के बीच निर्बाध आपूर्ति सुनिश्चित करने के लिए भारत ने अपने दैनिक एलपीजी उत्पादन में अभूतपूर्व वृद्धि (35,000 टन से बढ़ाकर 54,000 टन) की है।

इस दौरान कई सारे देशों में तेल के दाम व उपलब्धता को लेकर उतार-चढ़ाव आए लेकिन भारत में कोई असर नहीं पड़ा।

कुछ लोगों ने कालाबाजारी की, अफवाह फैलाने की पूरी कोशिश की, पर PM @narendramodi जी के मार्गदर्शन में हमारे प्रयासों से देश में पेट्रोल, डीजल और एलपीजी की कहीं कोई कमी नई आई।
