It was terrific having you join us! One of my take-aways from this very rich conversation is how language can be used by social services to exert coercive control, as when a parent is pressured to give "consent" to a "voluntary" arrangement that is not transparent.
Sorry but thats just plain wrong.. its none of your business @OctopusEnergy what peoples circumstances are.Your there to provide electricity and gas not to go into peoples homes n do assessments. We all know there is poverty as been for decades then there is cost of living ontop
1: am so angry at this 😡 please tell me why u think having a sw in an emergency company is going to help people it won't do nothing. Why is everyone do bent on putting sw everywhere you do know #povertyisnotneglect its the government thats not giving enough wages, benefits etc..
So this is how much i have put on my electric n gas in this last week as it gets colder. If i do not have a warm home i would not be able to get out of bed due to my disabilities but we can not keep putting this much on each week. tonight i have added another £10 to each tonight
This a FAB landing page …made by parents, a back pocket for all the Family Group Conference films to help share the practice and widen the circles of help for people at different times in their lives #FamilyGroupConference#AcrossTheLifecourse
This says to me we have a lot of good people, in need & supporting each other on a community/voluntary level rich of heart. But where the money is controlled we are poor, poor of planning, sharing, caring, supporting.

Meet Angela, a birth mum.
Following domestic abuse by her partner, her two sons were removed from her care and she was left with no support.
Her story is eye-opening, and is similar to too many domestic abuse victims who are involved with the child welfare system.
I am delighted to say that one of the chapters of my new book, chapter 4 'Coercive Control: Harms to Children', has been made FREE to READ for the next 2 months

We understand that there is much more that needs to be done than simply placing individual children into school.
We need to work with community to break the societal barriers and stereotypes when it comes to disability and what children with disabilities are capable of.
We need to form peer support groups for parents of Children living with disabilities to provide a safe space to share, get advice and guidance. We need to educate parents about how best to prepare for and support their children to get into and stay in education.
Despite being more vulnerable to developmental risks, young children with disabilities are often overlooked in mainstream programmes and services designed to ensure child development.
Finally, a victory for the mothers’ movement to open the family courts to public scrutiny! But not enough: only in 3 cities & at judges’ discretion. #familycourt must be open as criminal courts are so we can defend our children from this cruellest abuse of power by the state.
Single mothers are struggling most with #CostOfLivingCrises & are most likely to have children taken because of poverty. We say: Poverty is NOT neglect. Take away our poverty, NOT our children. Support the vigil outside High Court on Wednesday 7 Dec #20MoreForAll#CareIncomeNow
