A death sentence should never be the price of grief.
Hossein Haghparast is reportedly facing execution in Iran after mourning a friend who was killed during the January protests. Authorities have accused him of espionage, yet serious questions remain about the evidence, the proceedings, and the safeguards that international law requires when a human life is at stake.
Under international human rights standards, the right to life is the most fundamental of rights. Any death sentence imposed following proceedings that fail to meet the highest standards of fairness raises grave concerns and demands urgent international scrutiny.
This case is about more than one man.
It is about whether the world will defend the principle that no government should have the power to take a life through a process clouded by doubt, secrecy, and fear.
In his reported final message to his family, Hossein said:
“My life for my homeland.”
No one should face execution for mourning, for association, or for exercising fundamental freedoms.
The international community, UN mechanisms, governments, human rights organizations, lawyers, academics, journalists, and defenders of human dignity must act now.
Silence will not save a life.
Pressure might.

Another Iranian protester has been sentenced to death.
Alireza Peyghambari, 26, now faces execution.
While the Iranian authorities continue issuing death sentences against protesters, much of the international community remains trapped in a cycle of statements, expressions of concern, and diplomatic caution.
Meanwhile, lives are on the line.
At what point does silence become complicity?
When death sentences are handed down one after another and the response is limited to words, the message received by the executioners is clear: they can continue.
The cost of this inaction will be paid by those awaiting execution, not by those issuing press releases.
Every new death sentence against a protester is a test, not only for Iran’s judiciary, but for the credibility of the global human rights system itself.
The world is watching. The victims know it. The authorities know it.
The question is whether anyone with influence is willing to act before another life is taken.

A 24-year-old master’s student at Sharif University has been expelled and banned from higher education across Iran for four years, not for violence, but for hanging a toy mouse from a tree during a protest.
Reza Dalman was reportedly cleared of criminal charges by a court, yet university authorities upheld a severe disciplinary punishment, reducing an initial five-year ban by only one year.
The case is raising serious questions about academic freedom, freedom of expression, proportionality of punishment, and students’ rights in Iran.
When a symbolic act leads to years of exclusion from education, the debate extends far beyond one student.

A child sits at a piano, searching for a mother who will never come home.
In every note, there is love. In every melody, there is grief. And in every pause between the keys, there is the unbearable silence left behind by loss.
This is the son of Nastran Zaremanesh, a mother of two whose life was taken by the bullets of repression. Today, he keeps her memory alive the only way he can, through music.
Some stories don’t need words. The piano says everything.

The Islamic Republic, in its support for Hezbollah terrorists in Lebanon, has started yet another military conflict and further revealed its anti-Iranian nature. This regime has taken the Iranian nation hostage and views the lives and property of Iranians as mere tools for exporting terror, war, and instability.
In this conflict, as always, the Islamic Republic is responsible for any damage to Iran's infrastructure and for the lives of innocent civilians on both sides. The Iranian nation, the first and greatest victim of this regime, knows full well that as long as the Islamic Republic remains in power, terror, violence, and instability will continue to loom over Iran, the region, and the world.
Peace, security, and sustainable prosperity are only possible with the end of this regime. The solution is not negotiation with the IRGC and the terrorist occupiers of Iran; the solution is to stand with the Iranian nation and support its struggle to bring an end to the Islamic Republic.
“Curse those responsible.”
With tears in his eyes and rage in his voice, a father wraps black tape around the body bag holding his child’s remains and asks a question no parent should ever have to ask:
“You spend 30 years raising your child, and then someone takes them away with a single bullet?”
When he was told to stay quiet, he answered:
“We’ve already lost everything.”
Behind every statistic is a family shattered forever. Behind every life taken is a mother, a father, a dream, a future that will never return.
The world may move on. This father cannot.
And neither should we.

From a nation building universities, industries, infrastructure, and international partnerships, to a country where young people face prison, torture, and execution for expressing their beliefs.
For nearly five decades, the Islamic Republic has answered demands for freedom with repression, dissent with imprisonment, and hope with fear. Generations of Iranians have paid the price through lost opportunities, forced exile, economic hardship, and the loss of countless lives.
The question many Iranians ask today is not whether change is needed, but how much longer a nation of over 90 million people should be held hostage by a system that prioritizes its own survival over the rights and welfare of its citizens.
History will remember those who oppressed, but it will also remember those who stood for freedom, dignity, and justice.
From where we were to where we are today, the contrast is impossible to ignore.

A public campaign has identified 115 freedom-seekers who were killed by the regime in the city of Rasht, in northern Iran, during the January 8–9 massacre.
Their names, their stories, and their sacrifice must never be forgotten.
In a letter to Princess @NoorPahlavi, political prisoner Reza Mohammadhosseini expressed his gratitude for her efforts to defend human rights and human dignity, and for amplifying the voices of the Iranian people around the world.

Thankful to Sylvi Listhaug, leader of Progress Party, and her colleagues for the opportunity to visit and discuss Iran's future at the Norwegian Parliament.
These MPs have been steadfast in their support of the people of Iran and their fight for freedom and democracy.
