@tommithetechie At one of my first jobs we had a pair of giant tape drives that we used to thread like that and take data between a mainframe and a midrange. One of my first tasks was to figure out how to eliminate the tape and transfer via network. One was on twinax and one was to token ring.

@theSiliconSiren The resemblance stopped at appearances. I had a couple of eMachines -- in this form factor and tower. They weren't terribly great for me. Maybe others had a different experience. I know Apple went after them, but you'd never confuse one for the other.

This is entirely too much analysis of a meme. 7 was wildly later than the date (2009). No one is saying Aero wasn’t beautiful but its performance was problematic. Also, the image of the Apple UI is not correct as the window controls are in the complete wrong spot. So I guess there’s more distinction. 🤣
