Shri P. Sivakumar, Member Secretary, Central Silk Board, MoT, GoI and Secretary General, ISC, inaugurated the international ITEC training on Sericulture and Silk Industry at CSB-CSRTI, Mysore. 21 trainees from 10 countries participating in the training.
The ISC delegation visited silk weaving activities and silk fabrics and products show room on 20th May, 2026 as part of the 10 days training cum Exposure visit programme on Vietnam silk industry.
The ISC delegation had a meeting with the Lam Dong Agro-Forestry Research and Experiment Centre and Vietnam Sericulture Association and discussed the status of the sericulture industry, research & prospective developmental aspects. The delegation also visited CRC and interacted.
The ISC delegates visited Huy Vanh Silk reeling Factory and Dinh Tam Silk reeling factory, Lam Dong Province, Vietnam today on 17th May, 2026. The cocoon storage, quality production system, pupa processing, etc., was very interesting.

The ISC delegation visited sericulture activities in Tran Yen, Quy Mong and Bao Dap Commune in Vietnam today on 13th May 2026. The interaction with the farmers, meeting with the Commune leaders and officials and visit to mulberry garden, rearing, and reeling, etc was very useful
The ISC delegation had meeting with the VIETRADE, Ministry of Trade and Industry and Department of Livestock Production and Animal Health, Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, Hanoi and discussed sericulture development strategies and trade promotion on 12th May 2026.
The delegation of the International Sericultural Commission visited VietSERI and VAAS, Hanoi today, had meeting and discussed the status and development of the silk industry. Participated in the EC meeting and discussion was made on the global development of the silk industry.
Dr. Shuichiro Tomita and Dr. Ryusei Waizumi, researchers from NARO, Japan visited the ISC office today on 4th March 2026 during their visit to CSB as part of the collaborative research project. Shri P. Sivakumar, SG, ISC welcomed and discussed on ISC activities.
A 5 member delegation from Araucaria Foundation and Brazilian Silk Association (ABRASEDA), Brazil visited International Sericultural Commission and Central Silk Board, discussed possible collaboration for development of the silk industry.
A 2 member delegation from Savannah Seritech, Kenya visited international Sericultural Commission and Central Silk Board and discussed the collaborative support in the areas of seed, training, technology transfer and expert services etc., for development of the silk industry.
A four weeks ITEC training on Post Cocoon Technology was conducted at CSB-CSTRI, Bangalore concluded today. 19 trainees from 9 countries participated in the training. Shri P. Sivakumar, Member Secretary,CSB and Secretary General,ISC graced the valedictory function as Chief Guest.
Shri P. Sivakumar, Secretary General, ISC had a meeting with Ms. Inga Pkhaladze, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, briefed about ISC and BACSA Conference. He presented a book βThe Chronicles of Silkβ, which depicts the βWild Silk Routeβ.
Shri P. Sivakumar, SG, ISC & MS, CSB led the delegation of MoT to Georgia comprised of officers from MoT, DC (Handicrafts), representatives from CEPC & AEPC. The Embassy of India, Tbilisi, Georgia organised the visit to Anabechdi, an apparel manufacturing company at Samtredia.
Dr. S. Manthira Moorthy, Director, Central Silk Board presented a research paper on Indo-Bulgarian collaboration - A Productive Bivoltine Silkworm Hybrid for Indian Sericulture in the 11th BACSA Conference, at Tbilisi, Georgia.
Shri P. Sivakumar, SG, ISC & MS, CSB and Dr. S. M. Moorthy, Director, CSB along with the delegation from MoT visited the Georgian and Caucasian Carpet Gallery & interacted with carpet importers. Delegation had meeting with GCCI and discussed about the promotion of Textile trade.
