Strengthening Global Silk Connections 🌏🧵

The Central Silk Board, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, is proud to be associated with the 7th Philippine Silk Summit 2026, held from 21–22 October in the Philippines.

Shri P. Sivakumar, IFS, Member Secretary, Central Silk Board, delivered a presentation highlighting Indian silk and its contributions to “Shaping the Future of the Global Silk Industry.”

The event also featured an exhibition of exquisite Indian silk products, showcasing India's rich silk heritage, diverse traditions and exceptional craftsmanship.

The summit provided a platform for knowledge exchange, innovation and stronger international collaboration in the silk sector.

Reinforcing the commitment to sustainable textile waste management, Ms. Padmini Singla, Joint Secretary, contributed to the Ministry of Textiles’ Textile Waste Collection Drive by depositing used textiles in the designated collection bin at GPOA-3, Netaji Nagar, New Delhi.

The initiative promotes mindful consumption, reuse and recycling of textiles, encouraging collective action towards reducing waste and strengthening a circular economy.

Every textile reused is a step towards a cleaner and greener future. 🌱

भारत और न्यूजीलैंड के बीच मुक्त व्यापार समझौता दोनों देशों के आर्थिक संबंधों को नई मजबूती देगा। इससे भारतीय वस्त्र, चमड़ा, और जूते-चप्पल जैसे श्रम गहन क्षेत्रों सहित विभिन्न भारतीय उत्पादों के निर्यात को बढ़ावा मिलेगा तथा भारतीय उद्योगों और छोटे उद्यमों के लिए नए बाजारों के द्वार खुलेंगे।

यह समझौता ‘आत्मनिर्भर भारत’ को वैश्विक बाजार में नई पहचान दिलाने की दिशा में महत्वपूर्ण कदम है।

भारत-ब्रिटेन मुक्त व्यापार समझौते के सकारात्मक परिणाम दिखने लगे हैं। अगस्त और सितंबर 2026 में ब्रिटेन को भारत का निर्यात पिछले वर्ष की समान अवधि के मुकाबले 8% बढ़कर 2.43 बिलियन डॉलर पहुंच गया।

यह बढ़ोतरी दोनों देशों के बीच व्यापारिक अवसरों के विस्तार और भारतीय निर्यात को नई गति देने की दिशा में एक सकारात्मक शुरुआत है।
