Today, Marodijex regional court released on bail the three arrested candidates, Qaasin Adan Saleeban, for WADANI Parliamentary candidate from Sool region, and Abdillahi Hirsi Hassan and Abdirahman Yusuf Ali for UCID local candidates from Berbera and Hargeisa Local Councils.
Three more supporters of Aamina Cilmi Fariid, a parliamentary candidate of UCID Party from Awdal Region, are Arrested today in Borama. Yesterday, other 8 supporters of Aamina were arrested, including 3 traditional leaders. The total number of detained supporters are 11.
Sources confirmed to both the Election Monitoring Office & ISCO, that 8 people including 3 traditional leaders were arrested in Borama, who were supporting Aamina Cilmi Fariid a female parliamentary candidate of Awdal Region from UCID Party.

.#Somaliland police should respect the Constitution, the Electoral Law Lr.91/2020. Those candidates are on the final list of the 31 May elections, and they have immunity; the police should respect it and refrain from such actions.
Somaliland Police said that they have a warrant to arrest 2 female parliamentary candidates, Kubra Hassan of Wadani Party from Togdheer Region & Canab Cabdi of UCID from Sool Region. The police confirmed on their Facebook verified page that other candidates r under investigation.
