What are the #economics of peace?
Today, @tilmanbrueck is holding a lecture at @unihh as part of a lecture series on #peacebuilding.
In it, he compares the economic costs of war with the efficacy of peacebuilding interventions and asks the question: Can money make peace?
@tilmanbrueck @unihh The key takeaways?
1️⃣ Peace is achieved through strong, shared institutions that regulate nonviolent interaction.
2️⃣ #Peace contributes substantially to inclusive development.
3️⃣ Sometimes it seems easier simply to alleviate the negative consequences of war than making peace.
