The Gallery of Lost Art included 20 specially made films featuring curators, conservators and artists explaining how Loss influences artistic work. One of our favourite's was Jake Chapman talking about defacing original Goya etchings. Full films here: https://t.co/sFcdMPHx7m
Lost Art was a collaboration between @Tate and @Channel4 with support from the @ahrcpress. We will be sharing more info and snippets from the exhibition over the week. More info here https://t.co/sFcdMPHx7m
8 years ago we were out in Austin to see our immersive online exhibition The Gallery of Lost Art win the SXSW Interactive Award for Art. We faced down some hefty competition from the likes of Disney, Cirque de Soleil and Cindy Sherman @ MoMa.
The exhibition was accessible online for exactly one year, before being destroyed itself! The site attracted over 100,000 visitors from 150+ different countries. This was the Tate's first ever online only exhibition and their third most visited show of the year.
