🧵 In 2021/22 I worked on collaborative content research & creation of Glasgow Building Preservation Trust's mobile app #TheLivingRiver, part of the public engagement outreach for the #WestBoathouse Project rejuvenating the 1905 boathouse on Glasgow Green
@easyJet Was able to checkin on the mobile app for domestic flight 23/12/25 but wasn't asked for passport/ID details. No way to add them after. Did find TravelDoc Easy jet link on website but it only asks for P-port expiry date which I gave. Will I be able to fly? App info useless
@MyGlasgowCC Hi, the 2 recycling bins for the tenement building I live in in G41 have not been emptied in over 8 weeks, and they've been full for 6 weeks. When are they being emptied?
@mod_in_metro Glasgow Corporation gas showroom got a remodelled frontage, some nice ironwork too (Belfast's had the same big typeface but on the roof of a new Art Deco building) https://t.co/RKCKgmyLto
The Glasgow Corporation Gas Department showroom, March 1935.
Located at 522 Sauchiehall Street, this photo showcases the latest home appliances (“New Beauties”) which worked with a gas supply. Archive ref: D-CA8/2953
@MrEwanMorrison Billions spent, with little-no RoI, but great social & environmental damage already in the surge of datacentres and their energy devouring & water draining appetites. A problem also of Bitco*n and the expanding Internet as a whole, unfortunately... complex to resolve.
@SPEnergyNetwork Thanks. I've followed you now but I think your DM facility only works if you follow back as I'm not seeing the DM envelope on your profile.
@SP_EnergyPeople There has been a powercut in my part of Glasgow G41 for almost an hour. I called the emergency number & they said there's a known fault in G41 & G42 that would be fixed at around 11pm - can u confirm this is happening? Thanks.
Cumbrae House #Glasgow by Launcelot H Ross 1937-8 getting some work done. Were original glazed (faience?) tiles kept when it was restored in 1988 or were they replaced w/ replicas (made of what)? I've noticed they've increasingly been falling off lately... https://t.co/ltskxddr1o
@DarrenMcLean_uk@MurphyNiallGLA @ArtDecoSocUK @C20Society@RoryOlcayto@historicshops @neilgregoryhes @GordonBarr@SGHETorg Beginning to wonder if Cumbrae House was completely/mostly retiled in the 1988/89 'restoration' & if the replacements were faience or just basic tiles stuck on with superglue,as seen from the wider Laurieston heritage disaster zone today. How to tell the type of newer tiles used?
@DuilleDesign Let there be light... last rays of golden hour touch former Herald building 5pm today. #CharlesRennieMackintosh & John Keppie [for Honeyman & Keppie] 1895 #GlasgowStyle 💚 https://t.co/oVcu5PL5nG
@RoryOlcayto The composite view. There's a similar view from Greenwich and other spots... the roof of Goldsmiths has a good one I vaguely recall. I'll admit the Strata in SE1 better fits the design spec, though not the malevolent force.
@GedBrockie@openplaques 2/ Our website features text & image information (credited) from open source digital sources, and from data sent to us. There are errors in places for various reasons (historical, political, and human error). Information is always imperfect to a degree, and certainly disputable!
@GedBrockie@openplaques 1/ Hi Ged, that's the page for the individual plaque in China, and it carries the wording as given on the plaque in question (not written by us). The person page for Eric Liddell carries the wording from his DbPedia entry which is more accurate 👉 https://t.co/ZArAaLwM6U
@GedBrockie@openplaques Hi Ged, due to technical issues we're currently unable to login to our Open Plaques X account, hope to have that resolved in the New Year. What's the query about?
Such an amazing, exciting and innovative approach to engaging young people with Glasgows *often threatened* architecture heritage - and what creativity by the pupils - an awesome set of models! 🎨🏢🏭🏫
#AHFadvent 10: Christmas has come early at the Broadway Cinema, Prestwick! 🎄 This community-owned, Art Deco building is being brought back into meaningful use as a cinema, a multi-purpose entertainment venue, and an inclusive dementia-friendly space.

Ironic tip-of-the-hat to M&S for the impressive transformation of their historic Art Deco store in Brixton. Restoring heritage features, while radically modernising retail spaces.
Rather than demolition, this is EXACTLY what they should be doing to Orchard House on Oxford St.
Take a few minutes to scroll through this thread on the Southside Alive Art Deco model building challenge for schools.
Fantastic creative work by pupils. And a brilliant idea to get young people excited about their local built heritage - that could work in any community.
