Cinema literacy matters because sometimes sanghis can't differentiate between a character's POV and a movie's message. i bet these sanghi want to call My Name Is Khan a propaganda movie, but they're too afraid to say it, just to save their image. this was Irrfan's last monologue.
History is written by those who had power, not by those who were good. Winston Churchill deliberately starved millions of people because he believed them to be less than human. He let Bengalis die while stocking their grain. When Australia offered wheat and Canada offered grain as a free gift requiring no purchase, just shipping, he still blocked it. He sat in documented meetings and expressed no intention of letting millions of dying people interfere with his operations. Three million people died.
That man was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize. Not despite what he did, but while he was still doing it.
A man who died with the blood of millions on his hands, with a soul so rotten that whatever hell he ended up in probably still lingers with that stench, is remembered in statues, school curriculums, and Western nostalgia. His character is treated as a matter of perspective. It is not. It is a matter of truth

Found the Azad Hind national anthem, and honestly it sounds much better than Jana gana mana.
The lyrics are easily understandable, and does a better job of bringing out that sense of nationalism.
A very Happy Independence Day to all..
There’s something special about being Indian...the colours, the contrasts, the beautiful differences, the spirit and above all, the feeling of belonging to something much bigger than ourselves...our Country.
May we always value what we have and do our little bit to make our country proud.
Proud to be an Indian and love being one. Jai Hind!
Javed Akhtar about how godse was funded by RSS and extreme hindutva leaders to kill the great gandhi ji🎙️:
" Godse did not want to kill the gandhi. He wanted to kill peace, respect , equality and secularism. that thought, that idea, that dream, that hope whose name was Gandhi. But desires, dreams, hopes, principles, and truths do not die with bullets. So, Gandhi is alive, and those who hate Gandhi know this better than you or I. They don't have the courage. That Gandhi whose murder they orchestrated, that Gandhi whose every ideal and principle they oppose, they cannot even speak ill of him. They still have to stand at Rajghat with folded hands. Gandhi will always alive and superior to all.
" Hoping that in 200-300 years, they will reduce the stature of this statue. That is not going to happen. Because Gandhi lives in every Indian, in some hearts less, in some more; in some thoughts less, in some more.
But let me tell you one thing: it is not just Gandhi who is alive. The man who killed Gandhi, who was hanged a few days later, he is also alive. Because he, too, was a thought. He, too, was an ideology. He was not just one man. It was not one man who fired the bullet; a socio-political ideology fired that shot. And that too is alive.
Today, it is birthday of historian Irfan Habib..
Petty jealousies of petty men might now remove Nehru's name from institutions and buildings, but so long as truth and reason still find an audience among his people, Nehru and his works can never be forgotten.
