This morning, Commissioner for Health Promotion, Education & Strategic Communication, Dr. @RichardKabanda2, met with the Community Health Worker Partners Coalition Uganda. Supported by @join_chic, the coalition advocates for stronger community health systems.

Dr. Kabanda shared that @MinofHealthUG has mobilized over UGX70Bn to scale up the Community Health Worker program over the past 2 years. He also noted that new Village Health Teams (VHT) guidelines have been developed and await approval. #MOHatWork

In many countries, CHWs like Dygrace already address up to 50% of the malaria burden — despite being unpaid, and undersupplied.

If we're serious about ending malaria, we must start by ensuring CHWs on the frontline are suitably salaried, skilled, supervised and supplied.

In 2023, there was only one CHW Advocate at the World Health Assembly. In 2024, there were four.
