AWARENESS SEMINAR ON PREVENTION OF BLASPHEMOUS ACTIVITIES ON SOCIAL MEDIA AT ISRA UNIVERSITY

Hyderabad, 18 March 2024: SSP Hyderabad, Mr. Amjad Shaikh, emphasized the critical role every segment of society plays in preventing blasphemous activities on social media. Speaking at the Awareness Session for Prevention of Blasphemous Material/Activities on Social Media in connection with Youm-e-Tahaffuz Namoos-e-Risalat (PBUH) at Isra University, Mr. Shaikh underscored the responsibility of individuals to refrain from uploading, sharing, or engaging with blasphemous content.

Prof. Dr. Hameedullah Kazi, Director IIF also addressed the seminar, which was attended the Vice Chancellors Dr. Ahmed Waliullah Kazi, Deans, Registrar, faculty members, and officer of the university as well as a large number of students and other staff members.

In his address, SSP Amjad Shaikh stressed the pivotal role of parents and teachers in instilling respect for religions, Prophets, holy books, and figures among the youth. He highlighted the importance of keeping the youth informed about both positive and negative aspects of modern technologies.

Calling upon universities to spearhead awareness campaigns, mobilize resources, and implement corrective measures to combat blasphemy on social media, Mr. Shaikh advocated for regular awareness sessions on digital literacy and responsible online behavior. He expressed concern over the alarming rise in sacrilegious activities, revealing that 400,000 social media accounts had been involved in such activities, with a significant number of perpetrators being students or graduates.

Prof. Dr. Hameedullah Kazi, Director IIF warned against external forces seeking to destabilize Pakistan through social media manipulation and stressed the need for strong state intervention to prevent the misuse of digital platforms. Dr. Kazi echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the role of academia and parents in preventing the misuse of ICT tools.

Dr. Kazi emphasized the importance of Islamic values in shaping the nation. He said the life of the Last Prophet (PBUH) is a role model for the Muslims and his Seerah is the strength based on which Pakistan can be given its due status. He urged educators, parents, and leaders to reinforce the sanctity of Islam, the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), Pakistan, and its institutions.

The seminar concluded with a call for collective responsibility in safeguarding religious sensitivities while promoting responsible social media usage. It underscored the importance of fostering a culture of respect, tolerance, and understanding in the digital realm, aligning with the core values of Isra University.

Hyderabad, March 15, 2024: Like the entire country, an awareness rally was organized in Isra University Hyderabad on the importance of TAHAFFUZ-E-NAMOOS-E-RISALAT (Peace be upon him), which was led by Vice Chancellor of Isra University, Dr. Ahmed Waliullah Kazi. The purpose of celebrating the Day of Protection of the Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him) was so that we Muslims could send a clear message to the world that we will not tolerate any negligence on the protection of the Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him).

Addressing the rally, Vice Chancellor of Isra University Dr. Ahmed Waliullah Kazi said that we stand side by side with the Muslim Ummah that has stood up for the support of the Prophet and the protection of the Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him). And today we want to make it clear with this message that we are a living nation.

He further emphasized that a Muslim could tolerate everything, but he cannot tolerate insolence in the honor of Hazat Mustafa Mustafa (peace be upon him) and it is the duty of all of us Muslims to raise our voice for the protection of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) and for our true ummah and being Muslims. The Vice Chancellor Dr. Ahmed Waliullah Kazi said that we will organize more information seminars of this kind on the protection of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him). In which personalities from different walks of life will participate. So that the students can highlight the importance of TAHAFFUZ-E-NAMOOS-E-RISALAT (Peace be upon him).

A large number of students, teachers, officers and other staff of Isra University and Hospital participated in the rally. While the rally was started by reciting blessings on the Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him).

An enlightening session on the "Prevention of Blasphemous Material/Activities on Social Media" was conducted at Isra University Karachi Campus, aimed at raising awareness about the sensitive issue of blasphemy in the digital age. The session, held on March 15th, 2024, witnessed the esteemed presence of distinguished guest speakers Dr. Mufti Ejaz Ahmed Samdani and Advocate Asif Ali Bhutto, both renowned figures in their respective fields.
Dr. Mufti Ejaz Ahmed Samdani, an eminent Islamic scholar holding a PhD/M. Phil from Karachi University, captivated the audience with his profound insights on Islamic teachings and their relevance to contemporary challenges. With a rich educational background including a Master of Arts in Islamic Studies and L.L.B. from Bahauddin Zakariya University and Sindh Muslim Government College respectively, Dr. Samdani's expertise provided a solid foundation for the discourse on preventing blasphemy.
Advocate Asif Ali Bhutto, a respected legal practitioner of the Sindh High Court, complemented the session with his legal perspectives on addressing blasphemy-related issues within the framework of the law. His insights shed light on the legal intricacies surrounding blasphemy cases and the importance of upholding justice while respecting freedom of expression.
The session commenced with a warm welcome extended by Principal Al-Tibri Medical Prof. Dr. Rafique Ahmed, emphasizing the significance of the topic at hand. Pro-Vice Chancellor of Isra University Karachi, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Umer Kazi, conveyed a vote of thanks, acknowledging the valuable contributions of the guest speakers towards fostering a deeper understanding of the subject.
The event witnessed a diverse audience comprising faculty members, students, and staff, all eager to engage in meaningful dialogue surrounding the prevention of blasphemous content on social media. Isra University Celebrates the Graduation of 480 Students at its 20th Convocation
Hyderabad, 04th February 2024: Honorable Chief Guest, Mrs. Rana Hussain, Minister for Education & Literacy, College Education, Women Department congratulated the students of Isra University Hyderabad on its 20th annual convocation ceremony held on 04th February 2024 at Hyderabad Campus. The worthy Chief Guest spoke to the students on the occasion and said that this day is very important for them and for their parents because today you have fulfilled the dream of your parents. Further, she said, this degree is the result of all the hard work that you have done over the last years. I am hopeful that after getting into your professional life you will make your parents, teachers and your nation so proud of you and you will do justice to your profession. Besides, she once again congratulated the students and wished them all the best.
At the ceremony, degrees were distributed among 480 students. In which, 275 students graduated in medical, dental, nursing and physiotherapy programs. However, 10 students post graduated in various fields. Moreover, 1 student was awarded Ph.D. degree in the field of management science. Further, 203 students graduated in business administration, computer sciences, electrical engineering, and information technology.
Honorable Minister, Mrs. Rana Hussain also congratulated the Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Ghulamqadir Kazi, Vice Chancellor Dr. Ahmed Waliullah Kazi, Board of Directors, Faculty Members, students, and their parents on the occasion. Further, she advised the students to work hard for their dreams and serve the nation and humanity by helping those who are deprived of the resources.
Everything changes with time, except the change itself. We live in an age of innovation and change, and in such an age, the universities have a special obligation. They must hold fast to the best of the past, and do more for the best of the future, said Prof. Dr. Ghulamqadir Kazi, Chancellor, Isra University while presiding over its 20th Convocation of Isra University.
However, Prof. Dr. Ghulamqadir Kazi, said that Isra University is the only private university in Hyderabad that is approved by the Sindh government and affiliated by HEC. Dr. Kazi said that today is the most important day in the life of every student because every student works really hard to pass every exam and get his/her desired degree. Moreover, he advised the students that they should serve the country during their professional life and become the leaders of the nation. He also said that never fear failure but learn from your mistakes. The Chancellor informed the students that success is not an immediate thing, but it takes time, effort, patience, and hard work.
Further in his address, he accentuated the importance of education and said that learning is a lifelong process that continues from the cradle to the grave. He urged the students to be competitive and participative in order to extend their knowledge. ‘There can be no development without participation; and there can be no participation without communication, in this age of digital literacy,’ he said.
On this felicitous occasion, Dr. Ahmed Waliullah Kazi, Vice Chancellor, Isra University in his address said that the main purpose of such events is not only to confer degrees on the students but also to honor those who have performed meritoriously.
Dr. Ahmed Waliullah Kazi said that, in the light of a verse from The Holy Quran he said, ‘Knowledge inculcates in a person sense of responsibility and accountability.’ While expressing his expectations of the graduating batch he said, ‘I hope that the graduating students at this University will demonstrate this purpose of the knowledge and will emerge as torch-bearers of truth and be paragons of virtue.’
Dr. Ahmed Waliullah Kazi, Vice Chancellor, Isra University said that the Higher Education Commission Pakistan has ranked Isra University as one of the best private universities and our degrees are affiliated with HEC and the medical degrees are affiliated with PM&DC. Moreover, Isra University’s name is mentioned in Faimer, World Directory of Medical Scholars and World Health Organization. However, the nursing program is also affiliated with Pakistan Nursing Council. Also, other programs like BBA, MBA, Computers, Economics, Engineering are also affiliated. Dr. Waliullah Kazi said that the University’s hospital and laboratory is equipped with modern equipment and state of art hospital. In the end, the Vice Chancellor congratulated the students and distributed the degrees among 480 students and also distributed Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals among the deserving students.
He also shared the tremendous progress shown by Isra University and the various achievements made over the years. In his closing remarks, he congratulated the graduating students and expressed his good wishes for their future endeavors.
Moreover, Muhammad Saif Ali, Mariyam Qureshi, Carol Borat, Sapna Kumari, Shri Devi Lohano, Syed Hamza Raza, Muhmmad Aaraiz Hyder, Taha Ali Khan, Simra Fareed, Sumaiya Narejo, Muhammad Kamran, Pirah Bahri secured gold medals in their degree programs. However, Sana Khalid Gujar, Maria Jat, Sadia Mughal, Aisha Falak Khatri, Komal Christian, Syed Zain ul Abadin, Abdul Basit Noorani, Naiha Aamir Qureshi, Zaid Tanveer Jat, Muhammad Ahsan Khan, Aisha Ali Shaikh secured Silver medals and Mehak Soho, Amna Kazi, Urosa Pathan, Anjlee Devi Dinani, Aisha Khanzada, Fatima Memon, Masood Ahmed Qasmi, Adil Noor Soomro, Karan Kumar Lohano secured bronze medals.
The event ended with the vote of thanks by Prof. Dr. Hameedullah Kazi, Director, Isra Islamic Foundation. Prof. Hameedullah Kazi congratulated the students and their parents. He wished all the graduates for their better future and paid special thanks to the Chief Guest, Chancellor, Vice Chancellor, faculty members, dignitaries, guests and organizing committee for making this event possible.

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) and the Ministry of National Food Security & Research (MNFSR) collaborated in organizing a conference on 'Applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Agriculture.' on Thursday, February 01, 2024, at the HEC Auditorium in Islamabad.
The Vice Chancellor, Dr. Ahmed Waliullah Kazi along with progressive farmers from the Hyderabad region, including Mr. Taha Memon, Hadi Bux Laghari, and Ibrahim Nizamani attended the event online from Isra University's Hyderabad campus via a video link.

Career Counseling Session and Psychometric Test for Students at Public School, Hyderabad

On the direction of the Honorable Vice Chancellor, Dr. Ahmed Walliullah Kazi and Former Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Hameedullah Kazi, Isra University, Hyderabad, took a proactive step towards shaping the future of students with a dynamic counseling session organized by the Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC). The event held at Public School on January 27, 2024, featured a series of impactful activities led by Mr. Haseebullah Memon, Additional Director ORIC as a guest speaker along with Ms. Nazish Mustafa, Assistant Manager ORIC and Mr. Syed Zohaib Ali, Associate ORIC.
The focal point of the session was the administration of psychometric tests by the ORIC team. This test was meticulously conducted that provided valuable insights into the unique aptitudes, interests, and personality traits of the students. Such personalized assessments play a pivotal role in helping students make informed decisions about their academic and career trajectories.
Complementing the psychometric tests were interactive and engaging activities aimed at fostering holistic development. The ORIC team, facilitated sessions that encouraged students to explore and better understand their unique strengths and aspirations. These hands-on activities provided an enriching experience, allowing students to develop a deeper sense of self-awareness and cultivate essential life skills.

In a collaborative initiative between Isra Foundation School and Isra University, a group of enthusiastic teachers visited Isra University on Friday, January 19, 2024. The purpose of their visit was a demonstration about the ICTINOV Project and the cutting-edge ICTINOV lab equipment. The session, led by Dr. Suhail Kazi, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Science and Technology, and Dr. Mutee U Rahman, Professor in the Department of Computer Science, provided a comprehensive introduction to the ICTINOV Project, Design Thinking Methodology, and the innovative lab equipment. The educators were not only inspired to integrate Design Thinking into their teaching methodologies but were also encouraged to explore the utilization of small single-board computers such as Raspberry Pi and Arduino in STEM subjects. This collaborative endeavor a step towards fostering technological integration with Isra Foundation Schools.

Two member team of Sindhi Association of North America( SANA) paid a visit to Isra University. Ms. Shahida Shaikh, Vice President and Dr. Nasir Jamal Pathan visited ISRA Hospital and ISRA University campus. They had meeting with Vice Chancellor Dr. Ahmed Walliullah Kazi, Dean Clinical Sciences, Prof. Khalid Iqbal Talpur and Dr. Sajjad Kazi, Director ISRA Hospital. Very useful interaction took place and many issues were discussed where ISRA University and SANA can collaborate to enhance the standard of education and health in Sindh province.
