In 2026, we are once again witnessing the same extra-constitutional decisions that were imposed in 2024. These policies are not only anti-Sindh but also anti-agriculture, threatening the economic and ecological future of the province. The so-called strategic water projects are merely a continuation of the same agenda behind the six controversial canals approved in 2024 under the presidency of Asif Zardari. Today, Bilawal Zardari appears determined to revive those canal projects and introduce additional dams on indus river system calling it strategic dam.

Pakistan is already facing significant water shortages, while Sindh, as the lower riparian province, bears the greatest burden of every upstream intervention. Any further diversion of water through new canals and dams will have devastating consequences for Sindh’s agriculture, environment, and the Indus Delta, which is already facing severe degradation.

At a time when Sindh is suffering from water scarcity, agricultural decline, poverty, and environmental destruction, it is deeply troubling that the PPP leadership is discussing grants and transfers of provincial resources to the federation. The people of Sindh have a right to ask why resources are being diverted elsewhere while Sindh itself is in crisis. Simultaneously, attempts to reduce the provincial share from approximately 57 percent to nearly less than 35 percent through changes in fiscal arrangements represent a serious erosion of provincial rights and autonomy.

These measures collectively point towards increasing centralization, encroachment upon provincial authority, and the weakening of the federal principles upon which Pakistan was founded. We demand the immediate abandonment of all projects and policies that threaten Sindh’s water rights, agriculture, economy, and environment. The people must raise their voice through democratic and constitutional means to defend their rights, resources, and future before irreversible damage is done.

میرے بڑے بھائی کا جرم صرف یہ ہے کہ وہ ارسلان تاج کا بھائی ہے ورنہ نہ ان کا سیاست سو کوئی تعلق ہے نہ ان پر کوئی پرچہ ہے۔-ان کو اسلئے اغوا کیا گیا کہ ارسلان تاج عمران خان کے ساتھ کیوں ہے اور وہ میرے بھائی کیوں ہے۔
