One of the killings involved a ten day old baby being shot by an Israeli sniper in broad daylight whilst the baby was being breastfed : an independent UN Commission says Israeli authorities and security forces deliberately targeted Palestinian children resulting in genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes in Gaza, and war crimes in the occupied West Bank
Substance aside, it is amazing what Trump gets away with in terms of messaging from his own side and from the media.
Can you imagine the reaction, especially from the right, if Barack Obama or Joe Biden had ever typed the words "I had a very good call with Hezbollah"?
A detailed report on rape against Palestinians was published by the New York Times earlier this week.
@prem_thakker and @minnaharshad examine the media’s double standards in covering sexual violence in the Middle East and the lack of accountability for Israeli perpetrators.
I feel sick to my stomach waiting around today to see what atrocity Trump has in mind for the people of Iran this evening. It's hard to fathom that our other elected leaders aren't able to check him in any meaningful way. It's really an indictment not just of the electorate but of our whole system of government. We're ruled by a mad king.
Pressed by a reporter about his threat to target Iran’s civilian infrastructure if a ceasefire agreement is not reached by tomorrow night, Trump said the Iranian people “would be willing to suffer that in order to have freedom.”

Secretary of State Marco Rubio on Tuesday walked back his comments that the United States attacked Iran because of Israel, saying the U.S. strikes "had to happen anyway."
"The president made a decision, and the decision he made was that Iran was not going to be allowed to hide behind its ballistic missile program, that Iran was not going to be allowed to hide behind its ability to conduct these attacks," Rubio told reporters on Tuesday.
"This was a question of timing of why this had to happen as a joint operation," he added. "Not the question of the intent."
On Monday, Rubio said the U.S. "proactively" hit Iran "in a defensive way" to prevent American casualties because the Trump administration believed an Israeli attack was imminent and that Iran "would immediately come after us" in retaliation.
"Obviously, we were aware of Israeli intentions and understood what that would mean for us, and we had to be prepared to act as a result of it, but this had to happen no matter what," he said Monday.

We take these reports seriously and are looking into them. The protection of civilians is of utmost importance, and we will continue to take all precautions available to minimize the risk of unintended harm."
