Dolly Parton, her parents and siblings doing a version of “In The Pines” in 1976, a song long associated with Lead Belly but whose origins predate him…likely came out of a hodgepodge mix of songs from Southern Appalachia.

Honestly these people don’t actually support Palestine. They just wanna show everyone how morally superior they are. None of the things they’re doing actually benefit the people in Palestine Istg
And when the MAGA conservatives swoop in and try to claim Dolly as one of their own, it’s imperative that you do not let them.
Dolly Parton loved everyone. Immigrants, trans people, queer people, disabled people, poor people - Dolly loved them all unconditionally.
please everybody do not forget how important dolly’s philanthropy towards impoverished & illiterate communities in the south & appalachia was. i’m so so heartbroken
Dolly Parton wasn’t only my favorite country singer but my fave actress! One of my favorite films that she was in was definitely Steel Magnolias, she was extremely beautiful in the movie :)
Well, I just got the news that my buddy Dolly passed onto the higher and greater side.
Dolly, thank you for all the wonderful things you did for us here on earth.
Your love, your music and you gave so much with your huge huge heart.
There will never ever be another you.
We will remember and cherish every memory and every note you ever played and sang.
Thank you, Lord, for Dolly.
She’s gonna have a blast in heaven singing all her favorite songs with all her family and friends who have gone on before her.
I’ll never forget the first time I met you and I’ll never forget our last conversation. I hold it with love in my heart.
I will always love you,
Reba
