Would like to see/learn about a similar "child life" profession for late adulthood. I work at an Alzheimer's/Dementia assisted living center & I've see how these people can get truly terrified over basic hygiene, let alone an actual medical procedure. There is a need! #cofcdevsci

@GabPrincipe Interesting how the paradox of giving children with ADHD more time to play can help them get control of their attention and resist impulses. I always think back to how evolutionarily, we aren't meant to be successful in standard classrooms. This embodies that so nicely!

Reading Chapter 10 & learning that majority children begin to establish negative attitudes towards minority children around age 5 (mainstream/environmental influence), but those attitudes stop once children begin to see people for their inner traits #faithinhumanity #cofcdevsci

Ways to counteract: 1. Be open to children playing with toys not necessarily aligned with their gender 2. perform actions not specifically aligned with your gender (ex. males cooking and/or cleaning etc.) 3. Be cautious when restricting genders into categories
