@No_ProRelForMLS@Lardacious@ManagerTactical @jackson_rietz Im not saying they did anything technically illegal, I'm saying the league wanted Messi and got him and his friends in. No other clubs benefited on the pitch and there were no modifications to the rules to allow other clubs to field superstar, league supported teams like that.
@No_ProRelForMLS@Lardacious@ManagerTactical @jackson_rietz In 2017 he signed a lifetime contract with Adidas. Any modification or bonus would be separate. R Sponsors now permitted to recruit talent on behalf of the league, for a club. Messi's apple deal was for a behind the scenes doc. The revenue sharing isn't just from SA subscription
@No_ProRelForMLS@Lardacious@ManagerTactical @jackson_rietz Is this now how we can bypass the cap rules by clubs naming DPs and the league supplements star players beyond what the team can afford or offer? Beckham's arrival changed league roster rules, funny enough, Messi's arrival didn't which people also see as an advantage to inter
@No_ProRelForMLS@Lardacious@ManagerTactical @jackson_rietz That's what people see as unfair. You can say oh but its better for the league, but why does one team get that benefit and not others. Can SKC go out and say hey, we'll bring Mbappe and pay him 50 million and the MLS, apple and addidas will add another 50 million in add ons?
@No_ProRelForMLS@Lardacious@ManagerTactical @jackson_rietz It's unfair the league can decide when it will support to bring in big names and when it won't. The "separate" deals are baked into player contracts owned by the league. Apple and Adidas don't make deals about revenue sharing MLS broadcasting rights and merch w/o MLS involvement
@No_ProRelForMLS@Lardacious@ManagerTactical @jackson_rietz Beckham was also an example of the league bending the rules. The salary cap should be hard and fast across the league. Why can one team max out a player and then the league supplement that with additional revenue from partners and other add ons? Also, who owns inter Miami?
@mandmflem@TheMikeMorton No, but it's not an uncommon practice to see people come out and vote for a candidate and not cast votes for other races. Kamala failed to reach her base and tried to go after the moderate Republican base, which meant she didn't get enough of either group.
@STAUFttv@TheMikeMorton Or....the options suck and it's time that we either move away from a two party system where both sides are crap or we start putting forward real candidates with real policy ideas. At some point, voting in order to keep someone else from winning isn't democracy. People are tired
@No_ProRelForMLS@Lardacious@ManagerTactical @jackson_rietz No, totally. A separate deal that includes a revenue sharing option with apple and addidas while he plays in the MLS...that's not exactly what op is saying. Oh, he also gets franchise ownership access and winds up somewhere near $60 million a year when it's all said and done...
@neusuz@tickedofflymie@knowlesBCald @Bri4Change2024 @PamKeithFL Or they don't agree with the candidates and don't feel they have to support anyone they don't believe in. It's not lazy, it personal conviction. I won't cast a vote for a school board member I believe is incompetent. Why should I have to pick between terrible and awful?
@ReviewEveryFoul @MLSRefStats Why are you giving this as a foul though? None of the things you mentioned directly impacted the kick or prevented release. It was all theoretical and maybe/might.
@AaronInglis1@Marcspurs1468@AFC_Monty_ Except that's not how you judge these calls. If saliba doesn't take him down, the attacker is clear onto goal. Saliba isn't part of the equation.
@AFC_Monty_ Omfg. Reading these stupid posts is tiring. It's a red. The Liverpool foul, was borderline, but they have a player closer to the ball, the foul is closer to the half line and the direction the ball is traveling is angled away from goal. Let's stop with this and move on
@Woozlethe1st @DaileKelleher @SarahKathleen60 It's not rude to talk to each other and pass something to someone. Book your flight earlier and choose a better seat...this is a weird and whiny post about a non issue
@soccer1v1elite@SEC432@AlexiLalas Would love to know how clubs can charge under 1k per player and still get them high level coaching, access to high level leagues like ecnl, MLS next, etc and get them traveling to these tournaments that Cost thousands to enter and attend.
@soccer1v1elite@SEC432@AlexiLalas Which clubs? I have my kid in the cheapest US club soccer team in the state. It's run by 95% volunteer coaches, we have connections to new balance for discounted uniforms, and we still spend 2k in club fees and uniforms. Town teams with no access to Big leagues run for about 1k
