Everyone in Hollywood knows that, substantively, the Oscars’ diversity requirements accomplish nothing. We literally just had a ceremony where Hamnet, Sentimental Value, and Train Dreams all landed Best Picture nominations with all-white casts. If Paramount released The Godfather tomorrow with the exact same cast, it would still qualify for Best Picture.

So why have the requirements at all? That’s a perfectly fair question. But Nolan did not cast Lupita to appease the Academy. That claim is foolish, and it makes the people pushing it look like absolute idiots to anyone within shouting distance of the industry.

Age-wise I'd say the peak of their golden gen would've been 2016 - 2020 and at Euro16 they got booted by a Welsh team nowhere near as good as them on paper. An unemployed Hal Robson Kanu knocked them out ffs. Marc Wilmots has to shoulder some of the wastage blame
