@MattWalshBlog Because the law should only be about keeping the civilians safe and not more than that. In this case, public safety is optimised by a life sentence. No additional safety comes from the death penalty. Any additional punishment beyond life sentence only serves vengeance.

This is why Israel continues to ban all international media from entering Gaza unless they submit to total control by the IDF.
Despite how much the world already knows, the true extent and depravity of the (US-funded) atrocities will only be fully documented once that happens:
@TOEwithCurt Philosophically at a deeper level, the differences in the selves get blurry very quickly and I agree with the statement "you can't lie to yourself". This is technically true. But experientially, "lying to yourself" can still make sense in the way of my previous tweets I think.
@TOEwithCurt When conscious-you views things from one version of the full “conscious+unconscious-you,” from that frame the wants and goals of your other selves are interpreted as “lies” and "lying to yourself". This I think is the colloquial meaning of the phrase.
@TOEwithCurt The self isn’t consistent. Different parts want different, even opposite, things. “Lying to yourself” just means elevating/choosing/prioritizing one version of yourself in the moment and calling the desires of the others as lies.
@OW_Esports@socutelip@Ow_Proper@itsmelimmy Very nice to see mutual respect and admiration in how they talk about each other. An interview like this with Quartz and Lbbd7 would be interesting to see as well.
@PeterBeinart Was this talk recorded ? Is the educated section of the Israeli population any less genocidal than the political and uneducated sections ? I'm more interested in what was said in the talk and how the listeners responded.
@DrSamuelBHume Researchers have been shifting away from the idea that plaques "cause" Alzheimer’s. Plenty of Alzheimer’s cases show no plaques, and clearing plaques doesn’t fix the disease. Growing evidence points to metabolic dysfunction driving both plaques and Alzheimer’s itself.
@ireallyhateyou An easy way to gauge the sincerity of any group claiming to promote “peace” is to look at how often they demand, if at all, the accountability for the decades of crimes from those responsible in IDF & Israeli govt. Fixating on Hamas & nothing on Israel means its a Hasbara front.
Art has always been subjective. Humans can assign meaning, emotion, and depth to anything, even to something others see as nonsense or gibberish. The creator matters far less than the meaning we project onto the work. (2/2)
This debate cracks me up. The idea of AI as the “creator” makes people instantly call things bad art. If you showed a mix of AI and human pieces without labels, I’m convinced half the crowd would praise AI work as genius and dismiss human work as slop. (1/2)
“When I’m trying to make arguments in favor of Israel, I realize I’m talking through a wall of dead children.”
She is, to be clear, saying this as a complaint — not about the killing of the children but about its *visibility.*
@BrianRoemmele@naval Why are we so obsessed with making robots walk like humans? We’re racing past evolution in medicine, yet we copy evolution in robotics. A lot of it is just for marketing. A truly bold robotics team would outthink evolution and design something far better.
