During his Friday Sermon, delivered on 2 May 2025, Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, Khalifatul Masih V (aa), urged continued prayers for global peace, particularly concerning the tense situation between Pakistan and India, advocated for diplomacy over conflict, highlighted the suffering of innocents in war, expressed grave concern about the world teetering on the brink of widespread conflict, announced the funeral prayer in absentia for a young Ahmadi martyr killed in Pakistan, and prayed for the oppressors to face justice. He said:

“Continue to pray for the general state of the world, as I consistently mention. Pray especially for the current situation prevailing between Pakistan and India. May Allah the Almighty bring an end to oppression, protect the oppressed, and grant wisdom to governments, so that instead of advancing towards war, they resolve matters through peace and reconciliation, and become upholders of international agreements. May Allah the Almighty also grant the ability to international organisations – from which justice is seldom obtained these days – but may Allah make it so, and may He grant the ability both to these organisations and to the sympathisers and friends on both sides, enabling them to help resolve the issues between nations.

“In any case, it is being stated from Pakistan’s side – and frequent statements are issued by their ministers – that, ‘We have no connection with the terrorist incident that occurred in Kashmir, and if you harbour suspicions, then you should have it investigated through UN bodies, as ought to be done, rather than resorting to conflict.’ The Indian government should also demonstrate a positive attitude in response to this. May Allah the Almighty grant wisdom to both sides. [Amin.]

“When war occurs, both sides suffer losses. Furthermore, it is not just soldiers, but civilians and the oppressed who are senselessly killed. This is precisely what we witness in the wars of today; this is happening everywhere. In any event, pray for all the oppressed people throughout the world.

“It seems that the world stands on the brink of destruction. May Allah the Almighty alone save it from catastrophe. This can only happen if people incline themselves towards God Almighty. May Allah the Almighty grant them the ability for this, and may He also grant us the ability for prayer.’ [Amin.]

“Following this, Huzoor (aa) announced the funeral prayer in absentia for a 19-year-old Ahmadi martyr, stating:

“After the Friday Prayer, I shall also lead a funeral prayer. It is for the 19-year-old martyr, Muhammad Asif Sahib, son of Rafiq Ahmad Sahib of Bhullair, District Kasur. He was martyred by opponents of Ahmadiyyat, who shot him on 24 April.

اِنَّا لِلّٰہِ وَاِنَّاۤ اِلَیۡہِ رٰجِعُوۡنَ
“[‘Surely, to Allah we belong and to Him shall we return.’]”

“Huzoor (aa) then spoke highly of the deceased martyr and prayed:

“The audacity of those perpetrating terrorism in Pakistan and opposing the Jamaat is constantly increasing. May Allah the Almighty swiftly bring about the means for their seizure.” [Amin.]
