Every FMCG company I worked for as a casual staff left me with the same thought echoing within those four walls: “This isn’t where you should be. You can earn more.”

The question that always followed was, “How?”

That “how” pushed me back to school at 26. I graduated at 31.

After graduation, I considered returning to the FMCG industry. But when I combined my degree with my years of experience, the pay simply didn’t make sense. One of the offers I received came with conditions I wasn’t willing to accept, so I walked away.

I studied Agricultural Science, but my vision was always bigger. I wanted to build an agricultural engineering company.

To get there, I redesigned my path.

I joined a modern farming company that used modern equipment because it aligned with what I truly loved. Over four years, I immersed myself in the practical side of agricultural engineering design, construction, and installation.

When I finally left, that experience became the foundation of RA4 Global Services, which now has two portfolios:

1: RA4 Consult an agricultural engineering company.

2: RA4 Gas which started as an LPG products sales company and, by 2026, had evolved into a technical and maintenance company.

Together, these businesses have executed contracts worth over ₦1 billion, generating well above ₦100 million in profit.

Looking back, I realize my years in paid employment weren’t a detour they were my training ground. They gave me the experience, skills, and perspective I needed to build something of my own.

Every production requires proper planning.

Without a proper plan, failure might be inevitable.

This is equally paramount in agriculture.

You don't just jump into production without researching your market and some other subtle but important factors.

This brings me to our current vegetable production where we installed 5 greenhouses but commencing with only 3 so we can stagger our production rather than start the 5 at once and terminate them the same time.

The purpose of staggering the production is to ensure all year production because as the first 3 are being terminated, the other two are already and producing and the circle goes on.

To other farmers, how do you ensure all year round production in your vegetable farms?
