Senator Mitch McConnell is 84 years old. He was hospitalized on June 14 for undisclosed reasons. More than two weeks later his office confirms he is recovering and working closely with staff on Senate business and Kentucky matters.

They have shared no details on the cause of the hospitalization or his exact current condition. Senate leaders who spoke with him shortly after said he sounded good and wanted to return soon.

McConnell has a documented history of health issues including serious falls and prior hospitalizations. He already announced he will not seek re-election and will finish his term in January 2027.
