Spiritually, this is where the debate comes from:
*Body vs. Spirit view:*
Many spiritual paths teach that your body is not just flesh, it's a temple. So what you do with it in private still matters spiritually. It's not just about physical release, it's about energy, discipline and self-control.
*What most faiths say:*
- *Christianity / Islam:* Generally see it as a misuse of sexual energy that was meant for marriage and procreation. It is often linked to lustful thoughts, which weakens spiritual discipline.
- *Eastern / African Traditional:* Sees sexual energy as life-force. When you release it carelessly, you scatter your power. When you keep and channel it, you become stronger, clearer, more focused.
*The spiritual question is not just "Is it a sin?" but:*
1. What spirit is behind it? Is it peace or guilt? Love or lust? Control or compulsion?
2. What does it do to your mind? Does it make you more disciplined or more addicted?
3. Does it connect you or isolate you?
That's why some call it a blessing for the body, but a block for the spirit.
The flesh is satisfied for 5 minutes, but the spirit will tell you if you lost power for 5 days after.
Your spirit knows which one it is for you.
