I watched this #PodcastAndChill special on Russian Gate.
Here are my take aways...
- Siya is not being fully transparent
- Why is Siya not willing to share the name of the Dubai company?
- Sway Digital should have released a statement as soon as Cyan video blew up
- Siya doesn't get that he is the villain because he is not willing to acknowledge that just because there are no South African girls trafficked yet, it doesn't mean the programme was without problems
- Siya let it slip that his company is working with some of the girls who are releasing videos refuting the human trafficking allegations.
- Munaka did not look good in this conversation and she will get some flag for it
- Munaka came across as uncaring and money hungry because she kept bringing up how SHE lost deals and money
- Seemah, while visibly looking distraught and defeated by this situation, she will have some people question remorsefulness. BUT ... If the people are honest though, it will be because they see this as her comeuppance. "She laughs at others' misfortunes, now it's her turn.
- Seemah came across convincingly hurt but I don't know if it will be enough.
- Zille put forward a more compelling case for redemption and forgiveness out of the 3 influencers on the special
- Zille is believable in his plight and anger.
- Most people will be sympathetic to his situation because he comes across as being honest and not filtered
- Zimasa was great. His input and questions added a more nuanced and informative element to the conversation
