“But fuel is more expensive in the US or UK.”

But they never compare how much of people’s income actually goes into buying these necessities.

That part of the conversation is always missing.

Honestly, Daniel Bwala, this one is embarrassing.

You’re comfortable appearing on Channels, TVC, and NTA where the conversation can easily be steered toward Peter Obi, the PDP, defections, student loans, external reserves, or the Lagos–Calabar expressway. But when you sit across from someone like Mehdi Hasan, where the discussion is driven by hard facts, figures, and statistics, the approach suddenly changes.

Every time a statistic is presented, the response becomes: “I dispute that fact.” The next line is usually: “Context matters.”

Yes, context absolutely matters. But context should clarify facts, not dismiss them.

If 8,400 people died in 2023 and the number rises to 11,000 in 2025, the reasonable conclusion is that the situation has worsened, because more lives were lost.

Simply saying “I dispute the fact” without presenting evidence doesn’t change the reality.

You could even hear the audience laughing at some points. That should tell you something.
