@Empty_America What could possibly make you think American foreign policy has a "plan"? It's dogs chasing cars all the way up and down the power structures.
@JacobAShell I've always wondered about possible backcountry skiing in the Tsangpo Gorge region, especially Motuo County around the Galongla tunnel. Looks like a maritime snowpack, unlike the rest of Asia's continental snowpack. Unfortunately expensive for Americans to explore Tibet skiing.
@DerekPederson3 Peltola is running a strange slopulist campaign for the senate. She sounds more like Sarah Palin or Bernadette Wilson than in her House campaigns, where she sounded like Lisa Murkowski. This messaging change has caused her to lose key local union and native corp endorsements.
@MesoAnglic The shale oil revolution and America becoming the leading oil exporter particularly changed global economics and infrastructure. Even Hormuz closure can't bring oil above $100 bbl. Yet so few politicians and pundits have grasped the ramifications of that.
@MesoAnglic Very good tweets on this. It's amazing how so few politicians, economists, and other "experts" understand the great changes to the world systems in the decade plus since 2014.
@StatisticUrban Peltola is running a bizarrely slopulist campaign for Senate, very different messaging than her house campaign. She's lost important endorsements from native corps and trade unions to Sullivan, that she had in her house races. Peltola's better for federal than AK politics.
@StatisticUrban Your name is StatisticUrban, not StatisticRural for a reason. Governor of Alaska is a thankless job. The state government is dependent on oil prices. Any governor who shows fiscal responsibility without windfall oil revenue will be voted out.
@christopherrufo@RichardHanania Many paralells between the stupid Khalistani gangsters in Surrey now, and the stupid Sicilian gangsters in Chicago a century ago. Both bad immigration policy leading to disproportionate chain migration of a provincial criminal underclass, unrepresentative of their home country.

@shagbark_hick Lots of good communities and lifestyles in America that you're ignorant of. Surplus LCM-6 are the cheapest landing craft liveaboards btw, but should probably learn basic welding and carpentry.
@shagbark_hick You could be a New York farmer, but you won't, for all the reasons you've posted. Butte offers the cheap urban catholic lifestyle, surrounded by ample public land that you profess to desire, but then you write off the whole state as a real estate scam.
@shagbark_hick $99k, prices have gone up a bit in Butte since Helen Mirren and Harrison Ford have been filming a Yellowstone prequel there. That might bring some of those intellectual types you imagine exist. Silver Bow County is still far from gentrified.

@shagbark_hick You seem to have a warped view of Montana. There are 54 other counties in the state, not named Gallatin or Missoula. Butte and Anaconda are among the most irish Catholic working class cities in the country, all watched over by a giant crowdfunded statue of the Virgin Mary.
@Jbn3ex@TaoistRonin I've heard good things about the captain/owner. Heard they would backcountry ski around False Pass on Togiak herring trips. Not a cheeseburger operation, even if their boats were built in the same yard.

@Jbn3ex@TaoistRonin That's probably one of the top 10 seiners in Kodiak, that does make decent money every year, out of the ~150 that fish there. Still work for an extra month, and make a multiplicity more sets to make a similar crew shares as the decent boats in PWS and Southeast.
