The Civil Service has now entered the pre-election period.
This will last until the General Election concludes.
During this time there will be restrictions on communications activity and Government social media accounts will be quieter than usual.
@gmhales The article/quote is also incorrect Gavin. It says that Chiefs will have a right of appeal following PAT decisions - that's wrong, they won't. Chiefs will (subject to legislation) have a right of appeal TO the PAT, following misconduct panel decisions.
The first tranch of dismissals review legislation - which amends the composition of misconduct panels - was laid in Parliament yesterday:

Are you sighted on the Criminal Justice Bill?
On integrity, the Bill includes a provision to enable a right of appeal for Chiefs to the Police Appeals Tribunal (and for PCCs where the officer concerned is a Chief).

@EGoldLdn@EGoldLdn No, there's no provision for the DG to appeal - it's limited to the Chief, as the head of the respective workforce (or PCC in circs described).
@gmhales Put on your other post Gavin but yes panel decision on a majority. So yes wrong to assert it's an LQC decision - and it's possible the LQC could be out-voted.
@gmhales@AndrewKersley@BylineTimes@policeconduct Also important to understand the breakdown of complaints e.g. what proportion of complaints are service recovery vs special procedures.
Worth noting that forces are already required by law to refer the most serious allegations to the IOPC under the mandatory referral criteria.
